    Man, I love Apfelwein

stir it up a little and warm it up to about 75 for a week and it will probably finish up below .999 like it should.

    Best Pumpkin Ale Kit

Well, it shipped Tuesday, should be here Friday. So not too bad of a delay, just a couple of business days.

I ordered the Midwest kit last Friday, shipping is delayed, hopefully it'll be here soon.

Who came up with the idea of Miller 64???

Use them as decoy beers for guests that don't have any better taste than that. I keep a few in the fridge for such occasions, I also do the same with cigars... Cheap smokes on the top for the guys that don't know the difference.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I use 1118 for apfelwein and skeeter pee, it works great for both of them.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

That's it, just sanitize, fill, & cap. They won't hold much pressure so make sure fermentation is done.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

It's probably just the additions you made. I just started a new batch with cinnamon sticks in it, the krausen is brown. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Mason jars will work if you just want to back sweeten, I bottled about 1/3 of mine in mason jars, if you're looking for carbonation you'll need to use a keg or beer bottles to hold the pressure. I might also add some k-meta or sorbate at the end of my next batch, I ended up with a little bit of...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

thefojizzle, it'll probably be fine in the same carboy but I'd probably rack it to a new one at the 3 month mark just to be safe. I left my batch in the same bucket for about 3 months before I bottled it and it came out great.

    Midwest Supplies

I prefer FedEx around my house, but honestly both of them do about the same and delivery time seems to be the same from Midwest so....whatever. I know Midwest had issues with supply numbers not being available to the online ordering system, which is why you don't know something is out of stock...

    Midwest Supplies

They've changed from FedEx to UPS for shipping since I last ordered. I ordered on Saturday of the holiday weekend and they had my order shipped out on Wednesday, so not too bad.

    Liberty Cream Ale

I split my batch between strawberry & blueberry. The strawberry came out great with about 1.5 lbs per gallon. Blueberry wasn't very impressive, smells good but no blueberry taste. I used about 1.5 lbs per gallon with it too.

    stuck fermentation - maybe?

The instructions say it should get to 1.010-1.012. I'll leave it for another week and see what I get. Thanks for the help guys

    stuck fermentation - maybe?

    Started at 1.064 & 75 degrees, Monday was 1.022 & 64 degrees, Wednesday was 1.018 & 70 degrees

    stuck fermentation - maybe?

Thanks, that helps clarify the readings a little. I'm certain I had a correct reading both day so my biggest concern is if I should re-pitch and give it another week to finish or just bottle it and call it a day.

    stuck fermentation - maybe?

So I brewed a Grand Cru from MW back on Feb 18th. I was going to bottle Monday, but when I got around to checking the SG it was still at 1.022, but should have been 1.012. It had been hanging out around 64 degrees during fermentation, so I bumped it up to 70 degrees. Today my SG is 1.018...

4th blow off in as many days

My first batch of Noble Trappist did the same thing. As long as you're just cleaning the airlock and putting it right back in you should be fine. That small hole being open for a few minutes shouldn't hurt anything unless you're in a really dirty/dusty room. I bought a couple extra airlocks so...
