Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

Looks like the next update got pushed from Thanksgiving to Christmas... hoping it's out in the next few weeks.

    Reading/Lancaster/Allentown bulk HOP buy

Quick is good. Last time they sold out of my favorite hops while orders were still being taken. Can I do the same thing as last time: order hops, order grain, pick it all up together?

    Reading/Lancaster/Allentown bulk HOP buy

I was just checking out B Crosby for the 2011 stock: New crop pellets will begin shipping in Nov. / Dec. - all pellets currently crop 2010. It has been a while since we did a group hop buy for hops... We might want to put something together when they first release so we can get some of the...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

I'd be happy if it's stable enough not to have the memory warnings and crash.

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

I check the developers site http://brewpal.info from time to time on this app & I just noticed this: Pretty exciting news since the last version was released in August 2010 & it has so many issues... the potential is definitely there for this to be a great app. Hoping that the new version...

Do you guy like Blichman kettles?

I have a 10 & 20 gallon. Love them both. The only thing I can say, and it would be applicable to all kettles with ball valves, would be to be careful when positioning the heat shield if you brew with propane. I melted the plastic ball valve handle cover on mine.

How to remove bung from wooden barrel

I had the same issue with my 10 gallon barrel. I ended up hammering a chisel into the center to split it & then I was able to pull it out. Even though it was destroyed in the process, I wasn't overly concerned as I planned on replacing it with a drilled rubber bung anyway. I tried cranking on...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

There was an update on his website in February saying he was working on it. The last update was June of 2010 though. I emailed the support address listed on the site a few months ago for assistance as the app wouldn't load at all, and I never heard back. I ended up reinstalling and lost a...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

I haven't seen any updates on this software in quite a while. Not sure if the developer is still working on it or not.

    Chugger Pump inlet style

Does orientation make a significant difference? I see some setups with inlet on one side, output on the other an others that are vertical. I'm also guessing that you end up with a bit extra wort loss that must be accounted for when the inlet stops draining.

    Chugger Pump inlet style

If I'm not overly concerned about that bonus .5-1gpm, are all things fairly equal? What about cavitation? Is that less likely with center? Is priming easier?

    Chugger Pump inlet style

The website is teasing me with all the center inlet images. I know that much.

    Chugger Pump inlet style

I've been looking @ purchasing one of the SS head pumps from them. I see all sorts of images on their site for a center inlet version of the pump. My question to those of you who have both center inlet & the other inlet type (I guess side by side or top over bottom... not sure what to call...

Wild/sour brew pipeline plan - Any advice?

I called and they actually had the 10 gallon ones in stock. I measured volume, and it held 13 gallons. I went with the original plan. It's been in the barrel for almost a month now.

    First AG on Labor day

All of the dead space & grain absorption will be accounted for when your first runnings are pulled. For simplicities sake, lets say you have 10lbs of grain @ 1.5qt/lb. Dough in with 15quarts of water (3.75 gallons). When you drain your first runnings you won't get 3.75 gallons of wort out...

Fizzen to spend some more $$

I bought my 50' x 1/2" IC from NY Brew Supply earlier this year. Definitely the cheapest around. Very happy with it. Well constructed. Shipping was quick. I won't get a chance to test it with a 10 gallon batch until a few weeks from now, but I'm sure it will work quickly. I've been able...

    20 gallon boilermaker slight seam

Perfect. That's what I was hoping. This thing makes my 10 gallon pot look insignificant, and I thought that was huge when I got it. Now I just need to hope the SS quick disconnects are back in stock at Midwest or b3 in the next few weeks. I have plans for 10 gallons of pumpkin ale the day the...

    20 gallon boilermaker slight seam

Not a problem. Just different than the other one I have, so I wanted to make sure it was expected while I have the opportunity to exchange if needed. 400 bucks is an expensive piece of equipment.

    20 gallon boilermaker slight seam

I just received my 20 Gallon boilermaker, and there appears to be a welded seam from top to bottom along one side. It is for the most part smooth, like it was sanded/buffed to be fairly flush and when you run your hand across it the surface is slightly irregular, or perhaps just not as smooth...
