Best advice/method/product for moving from good to great beer

Wow, as a newbee, I thought I had stumbled into the incorrect thread, I actually went back to the top to see if I had miss clicked. I saw my self in many of the posts on the errors I made, poor decisions and some things I did correctly. But some comments stung pretty well, as they should I guess...

GF filter issues with hop 'gunk'

WBB, thanks for the input, I will try both, but seperately, to I can see which works best. This is one of those duhhhh moments! I have the whirlpool attachment for my drill and never once thought about using it! If nothing else it shows I'm a newbee.... but you don't learn and improve if you...

GF filter issues with hop 'gunk'

As on the previous reply, I should have more descriptive. The GF has a false bottom with a fine messed screen. The gunk is quite fine, somewhat like a sludge.

GF filter issues with hop 'gunk'

GF filter issues with hop 'gunk'

On one of my first uses of a Grainfather Connect I discovered the hard way that the residue from hop additions will seriously clog the pump filter. The easy solution was to add a hop spider to help filter the residual gunk. While the spider helped quite a bit the hop gunk still surrounded the...

My first brew went amazing! All thanks to this forum!

Have you been looking over my shoulder? Sounds just like what I did, a huge collection of errors and it was still drinkable.. Congratulations on your first brew! I'm preparing to carb my second beer, devoid of the huge list of errors from my first batch.

When are my kegs full? Auto shut off worth it?

I'm new to kegging my beer so please don't flame me for a stupid question  I kegged a nice ale today using a closed pressure system transfer between my Grandfather (GF) conical fermenter and my keg. The transfer went along perfectly until the keg was almost full. I had been venting the gas...

Green as spring grass newbie.... Greetings

Morning fellow brewers, just a quick note to introduce myself, I'm completely new to HB having only brewed one failure, drinkable, but .... Based on my many failures I am now waiting to keg my 2nd beer later this week having corrected most of the things I did incorrectly on the first batch. I...
