I’ve made a few rice beers with as much as 40% rice and they have all turned out fantastic.
I haven’t brewed in awhile and that is going to be my first brew, really any low AA hop like Saaz or Tetanang @60 and @15 will work. And for yeast 34-70 is a nice clean yeast.
I’ve used 6 row, 2 row...
Yea I totally get not wanting to trade that brand new shiny tank but most places will try to swap whatever you bring in. And it only stings at first, unless you walk out with another brand new tank (which has happened before).
I have one that I use as my last resort backup and travel tank. I used to get them filled when I would play paintball (free fills!). Here is the link.

Did you swap your tank or did you go somewhere to have it “filled”? When you go and have it “filled” it’s only filled the equal of the big tank, so if that big tank was almost empty then you didn’t get a full tank.
When I first started kegging I used to go to a local beer distributor andget it...
I think we need a bit more info, how long have you been kegging and is this the only beer that has been an issue? I’m asking if this is the first or close to the first then you might have some setup issues like line length and size.
I heat up 3 gallons of water to about 150 something and then add my steeping grains and let them steep for 20 or so mins and the crank up the heat till boiling, I then follow whatever the hop schedule is and at flame out I add all my LME and then chill to pitching temp.
when I first started...
Nice to see you back! I agree with @Jag75 i think it might be the water. i like you took a bit of a hiatus and am just doing some extract kits just to have some beer around and they don’t have the same taste as my AG batches.
I have gotten kits from Northern Brewer and Adventures in Homebrewing...
To answer your thread question just brew beer, several batches to figure out your system. It might take a dozen or so brews but that will help you figure out what works. Taking good notes will also help so any changes you make you can keep track of, I would also suggest when making a changes...
Just get some cranberry juice and mix while drinking. I had a similar situation with a wit and I just added a few ounces of orange juice to the glass and filled with the wit, made it totally drinkable.
Ok that makes more sense, recipe building will take some time to figure out. Not a bad for your first try. As already stated take really good notes so you know what you might want to tweak or not.
Not sure what kind of answer your looking for but I have a few questions. Why marris otter? That will darken the beer up quite a bit and I’d move like an oz of Hops to either first wort hop or @60, it’s not a juicy ipa your going to want some bitterness. And I’d just add the last 2oz to flameout...
So a little while ago I brewed a wheat beer using all Sorachi Ace and it didn’t turn out how I was expecting so I was adding about a half inch of lemon juice to a 16oz glass and the rest beer, that made it palatable to drink. Now the juice is concentrate so would that be considered a shandy? It...
Patience is hard in the beginning, now that you made that one get on to the next one or go buy another bucket and make 2, once you have a pipeline going it’ll be much easier to wait a few extra weeks to taste it.
I’ve made that one years ago, I don’t remember how it tasted just that it wasn’t bad. How long has it been in a bottle? If it’s only been a few weeks maybe let it sit a bit longer, usually the flavor will change a bit over time.
I have had it happen before, What’s your FG? Is it super dry? That’s what I have found to cause little apple taste, having it ferment super dry. The last couple of ciders I’ve made I used S05 and backsweetened, really enjoyed the results.
So if your mixing some sort of juice to your beer don’t you need to make something with a bit higher alcohol if your going to cut it 50/50?
Also I have made slims lemon lime heff that uses a bottle of limeade at the end of fermentation so it kicks back up and adds a bit more alcohol and in the...
