New EBIABasket system initial brew day (apologize for the long post in advance)

What's the basket you're using? Is it perf on the sides, or just bottom?

    RTD PT100 connection options

Not sure if this would work for you, but this is what came with my RTD probe when I bought it. It had the wires already soldered on the XLR female connector. Soldering iron isn't too expensive to buy though, if you want to learn a new skill :)...

    Fuse on hot bus

I very closely followed a couple of Doug293CZ's diagrams (adjusting as needed for my panel). I have a 1A fuse that feeds from the power on side of my main power contactor that distributes to all of the PID's, the main power on switch, and the element switches.

    Fuse on hot bus

Disclaimer - I'm not an electrician. Just a random person on the internet, take this for what you will! I just finished a control panel, only one brew on this system so far (with no electrical problems!). But I used 20AWG for all the small stuff (power to PID's, contactor actuation, etc), and...

    Contactor hum

Guess that's why I see transformers in some panel builds! (thanks for the info!)

    Contactor hum

“heavy duty appliance is powered on” is a pretty accurate description! Not too bad I guess though, I can't hear it over the sound of the element heating up for boil.

    Contactor hum

How much hum is normal? Using the 120V coil Packard contactors from Auber. Everything works fine, just a bit of a hum to them.

    50A Panel Wiring Check

Awesome, thanks for the info! Makes sense, moving the contactor coil feed wires gives them fused protection and I see the change to the interlock circuit. Shouldn't be a problem to adapt those changes to the first drawing.

    50A Panel Wiring Check

@doug293cz - Before I get too head over heels into this, are there any issues with this diagram (copied from another post on this forum). Not labeled on the diagram, but I'm assuming 6AWG for the larger feed wires. Also, is the CN-PBC402-120V contactor acceptable? (spec'd for 50A resistive SMPS...

I'll take. Tell me how much you need to ship to 49544.

    Question about element firing lamp

    Good info, thanks much!

    Question about element firing lamp

@doug293cz - In this wiring diagram (using a DSPR120 instead of 320), does the element firing lamp flicker on and off rapidly as the Aubur is sending the signal? (In mash and/or boil mode) Or is it more of a steady illumination?

    Check Me

In retrospect, maybe this wasn't the right forum for this post? I dunno, it was a question about water chemistry, looked the right choice at the time? Anyway, actual mash PH at 15 minutes in, mash cooled to room temp, was 5.6. Probably could have held back a bit of the baking soda?

    Check Me

Brewing in the morning. 100% RO water. The baking soda is throwing me... Does this look right?

What's the "weirdest" ingredient you've used?

Did youget any THC content in the beer? Don't you need to decarboxylate the weed to release the THC content? Dry hopping wouldn't have the needed heat?

New post a picture of your pint

GPA 2.0. Was supposed to be a blonde ale. Think I did something weird when adjusting water parameters. The hop presence makes me think of a pale ale.

Tons of fittings: tri-clamp, stainless, valves, keg couplers, temp control, and more

Interested in an American D Sanke coupler. How much to ship to MI 49424?

    Ohio 15 Gallon Spike Kettle

Where does the port for the thermometer hit on the gallon markings? Are the TC ports soldered or welded on? Also, are the NPT fittings threaded on both sides?

    Lactic acid's effect on fermentation

I treated 10 gallons of water with just under 10 ML of Lactic acid.

    Lactic acid's effect on fermentation

Thanks for the replies. I'm still dialing in my process brewing with pure RO water. Thanks @mabrungard - I've been using your spread sheet! This was my 18th batch of the same recipe. Wheat beer. 16 lb grain bill, 5 gal batch size. (7.25 2-row, 7.25 Wheat, 0.75 Munich, 0.75 Carapils). Fermenting...
