First pint ever!! A big THANK YOU Homebrew Talk!

Appreciate it! It’s been in the fermenter for 30 days now. Like I mentioned above, hopefully I’ll be kegging it today. I’ve already been chomping at the bit to get another batch going, my Grainfather controller spazzed out just at the end of my last brew so unfortunately I’m ring on a...

First pint ever!! A big THANK YOU Homebrew Talk!

Appreciate it! I’ll be kegging it, haven’t transferred it over yet though. That was a pour straight from the unitank. Hopefully I’ll get it in a keg today, gotta get busy though to make it happen.

    I’d like to get started..

For those looking for info on using a unitank type fermenter and what to do when your beer is ready to be cold crashed, trub dumped, carb stoned and transferred.. these guys have so great videos with good info! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-B3ksPZytqtB2lA8nfPK7A/videos

    I’d like to get started..

Sorry for the repeat info.. just wanted to close this one out on a high note! 🍺 So, it’s been 30 days. After the cold crash for 48hrs, I hooked the co2 up to the carb stone, set it to 10psi (the target for this type beer/temp per the charts) and walked away. It definitely took longer than I...

    Dumping the trub!

After about 30hrs on the carb stone, the pressure was finally up to around 10psi at 36.5F… she’s ready to keg!! 😎 I’ve brought the temp back up to around 39F. It’s too easy to serve out of this thing, hope I don’t drink too much of it before I get it transferred over! 🤣

First pint ever!! A big THANK YOU Homebrew Talk!

Appreciate all the help that so many folks have provided over the last few weeks! My first brew day was 30 days ago, and I poured my first home brewed pint about 30 mins ago! 😎 It’s nothing special, a California Common.. but it tastes great! I can honestly say, I could not have gotten to this...

    Dumping the trub!

Appreciate it! 🍺 This one was fermented in an SS Brewtech 14gal unitank. I’m definitely diggin it! 😎

    Dumping the trub!

Probably not a big moment for most, but this is my first batch as a brewer so figured I’d share. I dumped the trub on my Cali Common tonight after crashing it for around 48 hours. I brewed this 27 days ago, hopefully it’s ready! The trub had an interesting aroma to say the least... the brew on...

    I’d like to get started..

Chiller is set to -6C, the controller on the Brewtech is down to 36.5F now. I’m going to let it run like this for another 24 hours or so, then carb it with the carb stone. I did pressurize the unitank to around 8psi to offset the negative pressure.. I’ll keep an eye on it to make sure it’s enough.

    I’d like to get started..

It’s been 27 days, and there hasn’t been much action at all from this one for the last week or so. Figured it was time to CRASH!! 😎

What is your cutoff time of day to start brewing?

I’m a newb.. didn’t realize there was supposed to be a cutoff time for brew day! 😆 By complete mishap, or what I consider a blessing from the Brew Gods.. I actually started a brew day New Years Eve and ended it in the New Year ‘22! 😎 I work crazy hours at work, so what’s considered “normal...

What came in the mail for you today?

Got a strainer and some seals for my Grainfather… they should all come with the strainer IMO.
