    Autolysis on the homebrewer sacle has more or less been debunked by most of the most informed individuals I know of. Certainly so when you are talking on a scale of 2-4 weeks.

    Oh ok, From this I thought you were thinking of kegging after just a week. JUST DONT. brew more and keep beer on hand and that make it easy to not rush beer. I know, am NOT a patient person.

    yup. you can also use 1/2 durarock (concrete board) or those mats they sell at the boxstores for putting under BBQ's on wood decks. I had a bench with durarock on it before I made my RIMS system it worked great

    In an attempt to better my understanding of yeast I split my 10 gallon house amber batch from Sat. They were put into 6.5 gallon glass carboys.     Ever hear of cocobolo? Not only my favorite wood, it is the premium knife handle. In the 20's it was used in all the very best cutlery in NYC due to its high oil content. When you sand it to like 600 grit you would swear that it was laquered. And its practacally water proof.

    Thanks. Yeah all natural is teh way to roll. Besides that cherry will darken substantally on its own after years of UV radiation. These a special place in hell for prple that stain cherry. ;D

    thanks guys. Yeah it sstinks there isnt such an easy solution for all parts of the brewing proccess. But At least this gives you a definitive reading to do calculations, I hate messing with the bubbles and the loss of beer with my hydro.
