For $40-$50, assuming most items are in good condition, it's probably worth it. If it costs more than that, I'd skip it.
If the gear is well used and/or abused, you'll easily reach the cost of a new kit replacing the worn out items.
That's some seriously beefy tubing for a brew stand. You could use half that wall thickness and cut the weight by quite a bit. For $20 per 8 ft (plus shipping), you can even order it online!

Keep it on topic. huckbof, you are welcome to start a new thread about the pros/cons/economy of kegging, but this isn't the thread to carry on like that.
Back to the topic at hand - I've gone about 2 years on the same 20 lb cylinder of CO2 without turning the gas off. Chasing leaks certainly...
I am often frustrated by eBay for all of the reasons previously mentioned. I hate the drop shipping business model, and it seems out of place on eBay. As one poster put, "they pass the savings on to you." Sure, that's entirely possible when things go smoothly. But in the OP's case, they...
I have an '06, which has a nearly identical oil system. The rubber drain line is a bizarre engineering choice. Mine's never leaked, but I've always wondered why they chose such a strange oil drain/change scheme. My 1972 Honda's dry sump system has a far superior oil tank setup despite its...
Spruce is a fantastic flavor when it's a subtle background note. It's positively awful when it's overpowering.
To be clear, I followed the directions (even sparingly) on the extract vial, which was sold specifically as a beer flavorant.
Vanilla Caramel Cream Ale. It was an experiment I was happy to try...and happy not to repeat.
Also, I'll never use 1.5 oz of spruce extract against 10 gallons of beer ever again (asphalt, anyone?). 0.25 oz max, per 10 gallons, IMHO.
Very nice work! Just to reiterate site policy, you may not advertise or do for-profit work here without a vendor membership. So long as you are simply building your portfolio (pro bono), it is perfectly fine to continue to help HBT members with their logos (in fact, I strongly encourage it!)...
Simply checking in to let you guys know I haven't forgotten about the project. I intend to pick it back up in a few weeks, this time with more focus on implementation of the existing code rather than reverse engineering it. For now, all of my gear is still packed up!
Let's keep it on topic. This is not the thread in which to carry on the dry yeast re-hydration debate.
If you'd like to further explore dry yeast behavior and cell wall structure/survivability in the presence/absence of sugar/protein, please do so in another thread.
A discussion of lipids and...
Tried it. It has promise. Scanning labels is nifty, but nothing more than a gimmick that becomes irritating to use. If it has such a good database, where are the suggestions? I have to find a beer first, then it will give me odds on my liking it.
Fever Tree ginger beer is hands down the best and spiciest on the market. In my experience, it's almost impossible to put too much ginger in the homemade variety. I've used up to two pounds in three gallons.
"Fail" as a noun. And "win" when intended as the opposite of fail.
"Self-licking ice cream cone."
"Myself" when another first person pronoun is grammatically correct - usually when someone is trying and failing to be somewhat formal.
"Could care less." It's "couldn't!"
"Cray-cray."
"Ain't...
Second this suggestion. If I'm running low on glasses, it only takes a few seconds to wash them by hand.
Full disclosure: I wash my bar-ware in the dishwasher almost exclusively, including a heavy dose of rinse aid. I see no ill effects. However, we rinse dishes well before loading the...
