    Temp Controller Needs in FL

Thanks everyone for all the info. I agree I probably don't need the heat but plan on testing it out during the winter to see. I like the fan in the heat outlet idea. I have an always hot outlet but don't want to run fans nonstop. I decided to go with the stc 1000 as it was cheaper anyway plus...

    Temp Controller Needs in FL

Thanks for the help. Yeah I was thinking maybe lager during that. I think I may just go dual stage though now that I think of it. Thought I could get away without it but it doesn't sound so.

    Temp Controller Needs in FL

Hey guys, I've finally got a chest freezer for a fermentation chamber. Been looking at temp controllers on here and think I settled on the Johnson A19AAT-2C. My question is since this is only cooling, does anyone else in FL (I'm in Orlando) or hot weather areas find they need dual stage...

    American Wheat Beer

My only suggestion is use a lower efficiency then normal. I just brewed a batch of all wheat and then a 50-50 wheat two row and my efficiency dropped to 60 percent. I was using rahr white wheat malt.

    Is this an infection?

Went to keg and saw this on top of my mango wheat. Is this an infection? I scooped it off with a spoon. The hydrometer sample tasted fine and I kegged it anyway.

Orlando: Eastern Regional Water -- help me out?

Thanks man. I'm over by Waterford so this helps. I got excited when I got my recent water report but it had none of this in it, just bacteria and carcinogen level.

.05 Blood Alcohol Limit for Driving?

I understand dot does and would try that. I'm just saying they shouldn't an the states should stand up and say, no were a sovereign state and we're not sending you your precious tax money
  11. R

.05 Blood Alcohol Limit for Driving?

True. Federal highway dollars is how they get you. Hopefully some state soon will say screw you feds, we're just not gonna send you the taxes in the first place just to have you hold us ransom.

.05 Blood Alcohol Limit for Driving?

Is they trying to make this a national law or up to the states? If national I don't see how congress has the authority to do that. Plus how soon is it before we wind up with pre cogs predicting that we may drive and arresting us before we do it

    warm weather brewing....

How so? I brew in FL summers around 95 degrees. Once the boil is done an you're cooling your wort just cover it. Then get it in the ac soon after. If you leave it out long or ferment outside maybe but I think you're ok.

That's your problem. You shouldn't even lift a bucket before you have a homebrew.

    New to BIAB

Just did my first biab smash. My flavor is more maltier. I used 2 oz cascade with 2 row. Hopefully the hops come through better as it ages

    Biab efficiency and og questions.

I think that's your max possible efficiency from those grains. Divide you're actual measured OG by that and you should get your efficiency

BIAB 2.5 Gallon - Yeast Starter..important? (or not)

I biab and never use a starter even when doing six gallons. I've used white labs on my setup too and been fine. It's probably something else IMO.

    Mash-ive Mistake!

You should be fine. The beer will have some more body. I did this in the past and it still make good beer. Did you hit your OG?

    A good summer brew

Same with me. I'm doing my first SMaSH this weekend with 2 row/Cascade/Notty. I figure it'll be nice and light and citrusy for the summer.
