    The Nut House Brown Ale

Looks pretty good to me. My favorite nut brown uses Marris, crystal and chocolate with goldlings and cascade hops. They don't state the amounts or hop schedule but I'm guessing your grain bill is pretty close.

    Opinions on ageing kegs

An Irish Red, it was in the primary for 3 weeks. I understand it will still age and condition in the cold, however, I've read that say you usually like to let your beer condition or age a couple of weeks after the fermenter, which I do, the same process may take double the amount of time when...

    Opinions on ageing kegs

Well, this is good to know! So you're finding that aging your beers for a couple weeks in the cold is producing just as good beer as would leaving them at room temp for a couple weeks?

    Opinions on ageing kegs

Hi all, New to kegging so still trying to learn the process. I kegged my first beer last friday, put it in my kegerator which is set to 40F, set to the recommended psi beersmith gave me, after a couple days I added gelatin, hooked the gas back up and was planing on leaving it a week or two then...

    Cold Crash for chill-haze

I cold crashed my last brew down to near freezing. I let it sit at that temp for 2 days to get down to temp, added gelatin and left for another 2 days. Transferred it straight to the bottling bucket from the fridge and bottled. I didn't add any yeast and used the same amount of corn sugar that I...

    New Guy

I have the same 15gal kettle for my 5 gal batches, love it. My boil off rate is quite high with it but doesnt bother me. As for the fermenter, can’t see why a larger than required FV would cause any problems, i think only going too small would cause issues rather than too big. At least with...

Hallelujah!! The day has finally come, goodbye bottles!

The internal dimensions of the kegerator are 49cm wide x 39cm. The height of the actual fridge is 87.5cm, width is 61.6cm and the depth is 60.5cm and is a 163 litre capacity. Sorry I dont actually now the cubic ft but hope them numbers can help. Heres the product on the official site...

Hallelujah!! The day has finally come, goodbye bottles!

I bought the kegerator here: https://www.brewuk.co.uk/kegerator.html Im from the UK though. If you’re in the US I think the same product is available over there, the company that make it is the same company that make the grain father.. Mangrove Jacks. I bought 3 of the new style corny kegs to...

    Limiting o2 when filling keg

    Limiting o2 when filling keg

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'm going to go with this method, it seems the most sound and least work for me. I think ill just drain a keg off star san through the tap by co2 and then hook up a liquid ball lock to the end of my siphon hose and connect it to the out post and siphon...

    Limiting o2 when filling keg

Hi guys, Kegging my first batch this weekend. After a lot of research I’ve found the best way to fill a keg seems to be pressure transfer. However, I ferment in fermonsters and at the moment I dont have the set up or know of a set up with these FVs to do a pressure transfer. So, ill be racking...

Bulk lagering an ale then bottling

http://brulosophy.com/2015/01/05/the-gelatin-effect-exbeeriment-results/ Heres the link to the xbmt if you're interested. Out of 12 testers, only 5 could tell the 2 beers apart correctly, indicating that it could well have been guessing.

Bulk lagering an ale then bottling

some people say it can strip some flavour and hop taste/aroma but i recently used gelatin on my beer for the first time and all it did was make it beautifully crystal clear, tasted and smelt great. Someone also did an exbeeriment on gelatin and basically the end result was, without seeing the...

First time brewing with RO and Bru'n, what went wrong?

Ah right, well that promising that it may not be an error I've made then. My next batch is going to be a pale ale with a fair few crystal malts. I'll have to see if the predicted pH is a little closer this time as someone earlier mentioned the estimate can be a bit off with wheat. I'll have to...
