    Jamil's California Common Recipe

    Perfect, thanks for the info.

    Jamil's California Common Recipe

I know it's been a while since you brewed this but do you recall your fermentation temp and schedule? I'm about to try this one tomorrow and it's my first "lager" attempt. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

American Pale Ale Red Chair NWPA clone

Yep, keep us posted. I've got my 4th attempt in the bucket now but eagerly awaiting my next attempt at splitting up the crystal. I feel like my 3 attempts have been close but not quite sweet enough and not enough citrus taste / aroma.

Repair 10 gallon cooler - Need collective input

No fix yet but in the meantime it's working great as insulation for my small batch BIAB brews in the kitchen. I usually do 3 gallon brews in my 7.5 gal turkey pot. 151.5° down from 152 after an hour on the first run but I credit the towels. I only used 1 towel on my second mash and lost 3 degrees.

Single Hole Red Rubber Carboy Cap

I use them and prefer them because they seal better especially when using my blow-off tube w/ copper elbow. My local brew shop sells them and they are labeled "musting caps" if I remember correctly. They work great for my glass carboys but are a little difficult to pry off of a better...

Repair 10 gallon cooler - Need collective input

I tried the stopper / tubing idea assuming that's what the original owner widened the hole for but it leaked. I might be able to clean it up a bit a and get a better seal. All great ideas, thanks.

Repair 10 gallon cooler - Need collective input

I love that build. It's the first thing I thought of when I ran into the issue. My turkey pot is a little narrow but my "plan b" is to cut a couple of notches out for my handles and use it as an insulating vessel for my pot when I'm doing small batch BIAB.

Repair 10 gallon cooler - Need collective input

I haven't because I wasn't sure if a bottling spigot was considered hi-temp, even if it would make a seal. I'll look into it, thanks.

Repair 10 gallon cooler - Need collective input

The hole is too large for the bulkhead and o-rings in particular. That was the plan originally. I looked into a larger fitting (even in brass) but the parts list pricing quickly became higher than a replacement cooler. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Repair 10 gallon cooler - Need collective input

I picked up a bunch of used gear from a guy on craigslist recently and included was a 10 gallon cooler. I didn't notice until after I brought it home that the previous owner pretty much destroyed the hole where the spigot once was. It looks like it was rarely used but it was obviously being...

Oregon Keggle for sale - Portland

I'm sure I'm going to regret this decision some day but for now, the keggle I have is just too big for my brewing. I'm asking $100 without the hardware. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/for/4156457277.html

    How to Store Spent Grain

Is dried grain sticky? I would love to try to use it as kitty litter if I could figure out a way to dry it properly in bulk amounts.

    Wyeast 1187 (Ringwood)

Definitely a slow starter every time I've used it. I saw no activity for 48 hours the last 3 times I used it (1 smack pack, no starter). It does make a delicious beer.

2.5 Gallon Bratches - Best Chilling Methods?

If I'm doing a 2.5 - 3 gallon batch in the kitchen, I just chill my pot in the sink. We have a 2 compartment sink so I alternate between compartments a few times with cold tap water and then usually on the 4th "bath" is when I add some ice and an ice pack (to the sink, not the wort). The...
