    Extremely high efficiancy

    No base grains

My thoughts exactly, just worried that I'll make some God awful beer. The mouth feel is similar to something that you would expect from...almost like water soaked cotton balls. Just really full, not bad but almost fuzzy, I dont know how to explain it apart from it not being right and I know that...

    No base grains

From what I was lead to believe at the last club meeting I was left with none so maybe this is an erroneous thread but it had me worried. As to grammar I see what you mean and realize I left out a sentance, Im sure youve never done that. should read "I had the second beer of the most recent two...

    No base grains

Ive tried a couple from the blond and apart from mouth feel and probably not being a blond their drinkable, I dont think I could dump something without seeing how it ages, glutton for punishment or reinforcement for not doing it again, either way, Im gonna suffer through just wonderin if Im...

    No base grains

So Ive been brewing for about a year and thought I had a pretty good handle on it until the last 2 brews. It wasnt until I had the second beer in the nice shiny new glass carboy that I realized that there wasnt any two row/merris otter/ etc. The first beer, was supposed to be a blonde, is...

Why I avoid bars in my area

Myself and one of the cooks in the adjoining restaurant ,fellow home brewer, have managed to educate the two establishments which doenst mean that we can talk the owner into stocking good beer, bmc's have there place and from what ive seen people come to a bar to get wasted not to enjoy a beer

    Buggered caps

Went to the local beer store yesterday, got a Great Divide sampler, the majority of the bottles have had crud around the lip of them which I didnt really mind, untill I saw this cap beer still tastes good but this is the first cap like this that Ive seen. I know my opener did not put that black...

    Radioshack thermometer

Those were points that I noticed after reading the instructions. How would it work for a carboy? Just pointing it at the side in a couple different places

    Radioshack thermometer

Took the SWMBO to Radioshack last night to get some stuff for a school project and saw that 20 dollar infrared pocket thermometer, I think I share the mentality that if I can use it for brewing I have to try it. I got it, I brought it home and then started to read the inner packaging. Have I...

Brewtarget 1.2.3 - Free Open Source Brewing Software

i personally would like to see the flavor notes in the hop chooser window, kind of a pain to have to go into the edit window for each hop, otherwise, great program

If it keeps fermenting that vigorously get a blow-off tube, if its slowed way down, clean your airlock, stick it back in and pop open a brew

    First Ever Home Brew

Agreed, very ambitious for a first brew. Don't let anybody tell you that you shouldn't start with allgrain though, that's what I did, having only the great info on here and it didn't turn out like pish but it wasn't all that great either. Hope it turns out great for you welcome to brewing .
