    Megapot vs Bayou Classic

I have a bayou classic 10gallon kettle and have probably done close to 15 brews with it. I personally think it works great, and everything seems to be holding up. I want to get a 15 gallon kettle to use as a brew pot and use the bayou classic as a hot liquor tank. Was doing some research and...

    Infection?

I tasted it. Tastes fine. There's so much chocolate, coffee and bourbon that it's hard to pick up any off flavors. Might bottle this thing anyway. Can't admit defeat. Thanks for the feedback.

    Infection?

****, that was an expensive one. Yeah I lost a lot of volume to the chocolate, coffee and nibs; hence the head space. Do you guys think I came adding the adjuncts at flameout?

    Infection?

Trying to brew a KBS clone recipe I got from byo. A lot of people who Brewer the same beer commented that they had problems with infection. It calls for bakers chocolate and nibs at flameout. I was suspicious of this because I didn't think it would sanitize if only At boiling temp for a minute...

    Alternatives to marbles and purging

My homebrew shop recommended I use marbles to decrease the amount of headspace in my secondary. I thought it was a good idea but I'm concerned with what type of marbles to use. I don't know, the ones at the dollar store from china that "may contain a water soluble coating" raised suspicion. Does...

Pot size as important as volume of wort?

Physically it fits on the stove. I have a 5 gallon pot I do partial mashes on, but I like the spigot and thermometer on my new 10. Just wondering if the surface area matters to achieve a boil.

Pot size as important as volume of wort?

I plan on using a 10 gallon kettle for all grain but was just wondering if I could effectively boil 3 gallons in it on a stove top or is there some reason I'm unaware of in which the size of the pot matters? Besides weight

    Kettle question

I guess I should rephrase my question. Is there a difference between boiling 2.5 gallons in a 4 gallon pot vs a 10 gallon pot?

Don't mind the buying the outdoor burner, it's the outside that bothers me. Snowed today. Crazy New York.

    Kettle question

Going to take the next step and try all grain. I live in the northeast and will continue to do partial mashes during the winter. I Would like a kettle that would work for both methods. My question is, can I do 5 gallon full boils in a 10 gallon kettle on a stove top (glass, flat top)? Or does...
