    PSI for Keg

I don't think turning it on or off will do anything to save Co2 (as long as you don't have a leak). Once the beer is carbed it won't take any more gas into solution as long as the temperature is constant, so you'll only use additional gas to serve the already carbed beer - same as if you left...

    CO2 Gauge Stuck

I had the same problem with a regulator I bought off Craig's List. I could see that the paper backing was creased and stopping the needle. After spending a long time unsuccessfully trying to get the cover off I added a new gauge to an online order and just replaced it. I think it was $7 or so...

    cheap oak barrels for sale

They were for-sale yesterday or this morning (can't remember exactly when) when I saw it posted on Homebrewfinds.com. But it looks like they sold out.

    Bluetooth Headphones for Mowing Lawn

I still use one of those in my front yard. Gas-powered mower (not self-propelled though) is in the back yard.

Thank you! I'm excited to learn more about it.

Is this the report I need?

I am going to start looking at water, and was going to try to call my water utility to see if they had the info available, and found this PDF online. http://www.stpaul.gov/DocumentView.aspx?DID=1492 Is this the info I need to start looking into my water quality? I did a lot of searching and...

    Bud Light Golden Wheat?

I made this honey weizen kit from Northern Brewer and it turned out as a nice, light, fairly crisp beer with a hint of sweetness. I didn't use any of the suggested yeasts and went with US-05 and fermented at 61 degrees. I haven't had the bud light golden wheat before, though, so I don't...

    Falconer's Flight IPA Recipe Critque

I've got something similar in primary and the sample I took today tasted great. I bittered with Columbus and ended up with about 70 IBUs. I also used less caramel malt but mashed a little higher at 152 to boost the maltiness a bit. It's my first try with falconer's flight so I hope it turns...

    After mash grain usage?

I usually freeze a zip lock bag full after brewing and use them to make dog treats when time allows.

Will it be hard to hold my mash temp?

I shut the flame off and wrap the pot in an old comforter after mixing in my grains. Usually drop about 2 degrees over an hour. I've never had it drop enough for me to want to put it back on the heat.

    Good recipe storage places

I've been using hopville.com for a while now and like it. I like that it's accessible from any computer, so while I may enter a recipe over lunch at work, I can access it from my phone on brew day if I forget anything. Although I usually print a hard-copy to have with me and jot down notes as I go.

    Falconer's Flight IPA- mini mash

I've got a FF IPA that's been in primary for about 10 days and I took a gravity reading today. The sample tasted great! Lots of grapefruit and citrus. I bittered with Columbus at 60 and had FF additions at 15, 10, and flameout with about 70 IBUs total. I'm probably going to stick with the FF...

Sizing your Chest Freezer for Corny Kegs

I've got a 5.3 cu. ft. from Menard's and can fit four ball-locks with the co2 on the outside. I built a 2x12 collar (because I had the wood already), but I think a 1x10 would be sufficient. The brand is "Professional Series" and it was $159. Right now I've only got three kegs in it with the 5...

    Is it really that bad?

Sure. THEY sound whiny and like they are complaining.

    Ritebrew.com?

I've bought supplies from them a couple time - faucets, shanks, tubing and some other miscellaneous parts. Never any brewing ingredients though. Great prices and fast shipping.

how many boils off of 15lb. propane tank?

I've done three so far on my tank. I do BIAB heating strike and sparge water and 60 minute boils. It has a tare weight of 18 lbs stamped on it, and I weighed it last night and it still weighs 28.5 pounds.

    Turkey fryer

I "fixed" mine with a couple of large zip ties. Turned the timer so it's "on" and then put a zip tie on each side of the dial to hold it in place. You'd probably only need one to stop its rotation. I did one brew having to turn the timer every 15 minutes and that was enough!
