5 weeks and its all gone =( Thanks to the op for a simple tasty recipe.

I double pitched s-04 and its going to be great. It's only 5 weeks in the bottle but, with some age it's gonna be a fav for sure. At the moment it tastes like melted chocolate with vodka mixed in. I used 4oz corn sugar to prime and it's not fully carbed yet at 5 weeks.

Mine is 23 days old and fully carbed now. It's too easy to drink says my headache this morning! Note to self: Need to make two batches next time.

I know I could do either but, everyone suggest shaking instead of dissolving. Why?

When making apfelwein or other ciders does it matter if you dissolve the sugar and then put it in the fermenter? Or do you have to shake it to dissolve? Thanks, Jason

Just do what I do. Eat super clean, low carb, and exercise like a mad man. I drink what I want when I want and maintain a handsome 200 pounds. At least thats what my momma says.

Maybe get a proper airlock and I wouldn't worry about the beer. Live and learn since you brewed it you will enjoy it no matter what. I just set up a chest freezer to hold ferm temps but, before hand all my beers had the same band aid after taste. Band Aid or not we drank them just the same...

On second thought I might dump the airlock and fill it with cheapie vodka.
