    1 out of 2 is flat !

I checked all my bottles... some of them the cap is a little crooked on the bottle and even some of them are leaking when I turning them upside down. on some I can almost remove the cap with my hands. Very weird.

    1 out of 2 is flat !

at this point everything is possible. I did dump the priming sugar first like I did my other batches and it came out well.

    1 out of 2 is flat !

i'll give it a little more time. I haven't changed anything from my previous 4 batches... and they came out great. just the capper that is not the same. Bottles were opened at random.

    1 out of 2 is flat !

I bottled my 5th batch and bought a new capper for it. I usually rented it but was tired of going back to the store and back home twice to bottle. I don't understand why.. checked all caps and they were solid. Very frustrating specially it's my best beer so far ! any ideas?

    AAU calculation

thanks.. Perle is suppose to be a substitute for northern brewer

    AAU calculation

I just want to make sure I have this right. I needed 0.5 oz of Northen Brewer 11% = 5.5 AAU there wasn't any at my local brewshop so I went to Perle instead 0.78 oz of Perle 7.1 % = 5.5 AAU I think it's right but just want to make sure. Thanks a lot Ernie

quick question here in Palmer's book on my first recepie I did the pale ale it said to add the extract and then let boil again for 5 min for pasteurisation. I'm following another recepie in the book and it says to add at knockout. So do I add the LME and then close the fire or bring it back...

how to make it more hoppy

Thanks, I really enjoyed the Amarillo hops when I tried it in other micro brew beer. If I wanted to use it instead of the EK would I have to use it in the 15 min addition ? how would that work ? I enjoy American IPA better. This one if good, I'm glad I did. Still learning ! thanks...

    2nd and 3rd batch pictures

For my second batch I did an IPA and 3rd American Amber ale. I'm always expecting a disaster when comes tasting time but again I was impressed. Started using steeping in those 2 batches and I must say I'm really happy with the tates. The IPA isn't hoppy enough for my taste but it's still...

    Funny fermentation

thanks for all the info. I wasn't really worried about it as I saw the kraeusen . I'm mostly curious on why one batch is fermenting like crazy and the next on isn't. Oh well as long as it's good in a few weeks :) Ernie
