    I'm Brandon and I'm a Homebrewer.

Umm, okay but does "abusing" the beer actually make it taste more like Corona?

LOL, I'm not sure if you're serious or joking.

    First lager concern

I have a hydrometer but not a wine thief. My OG reading before I poured it into my primary was 1.050, which was just a tad lower than the target OG. I also ended up with more than 4.5 gallons yield but was trying for 5. The low gravity is why I didn't top off. Since the gravity was low and...

    First lager concern

I've done about 5 or 6 brews now. Each of them had minor issues, which I learned from but the last one turned out wonderful! I got a big used fridge from an old lady for free and I have a pretty smooth operation now. So, I got my lager all brewed with no trouble. It started out as a Grolsh...

    Yeast weirdness

I may not have gotten all if it. Some was clumped behind the nutrient packet and down in the corner of the pack. I think I got most of it though. What if I left a bit of it in the pack? Wont the yeast multiply?

    Yeast weirdness

I just brewed a Fullers ESB clone that turned out very close to the target OG. I was stoked. When I popped the nutrient packet in my yeast and went to pitch it, I may not have shaken it well enough or something. It was really clumpy but I pitched it anyway because it was a long day and I...

    Sparge how?

Quick question about sparging. When the mash time is complete, and it's time to sparge the grain, should I drain the liquid in the mash tun out completely and then, after the runoff halts, begin the sparge, or should I open up the mash tun and begin the sparge simultaneously so as to not allow...

    Suitable Substitutions

I read somewhere that Maris Otter would be a good sub for the "British 2-row pale malt", but I don't see anything that indicates that Maris Otter is a pale ale malt. It also says "Since this malt is fully modified, a protein rest is not necessary." What's that mean? It sounds like this Maris...

    Suitable Substitutions

Greetings fellow homebrewers!! My next AG brew will be a clone of Fuller's ESB YUM!! I order my supplies from Midwest Supplies (MWS) usually, just because they normally have everything I need or a suitable substitution. I'm having a little bit of a hard time with this one though. The...

    I'm Brandon and I'm a Homebrewer.

Greetings! I'm looking forward to learning and sharing in my beer brewing (and drinking) experiences. At the time that I signed up for this forum, I had an Avenitus Wheat Doppelbock and a Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout clone bottled and aging. The Oatmeal Stout was the most recent and would...
