    Mold!?

Racked on fruit puree 6 days ago. What direction should I take here?

    Spicy Tomato Beer

Oh, and about 2 tbs of red pepper flakes.

    Spicy Tomato Beer

To the secondary. Puréed 2 lbs of tomato, 1 jalepeno pepper, and fresh basil. Beer in the glass was before adding the fruit. Will be interesting to see how the flavors develop in this beer. Thinking a dash of salt may compliment it. Will see.

    Spicy Tomato Beer

Contacted them to see about shipping some our my way to try. Sounds like the pizza beer would be more of the "saucy" flavor that I'm trying to avoid.

    Honey to Fermenter

Why do you say secondaries are a myth?

    Honey to Fermenter

I didnt see your response before posting about adding more honey. Great info. Just what I was looking for. It shall go to the bottle. I'll prime with honey, just because it feels right. :mug:

    Honey to Fermenter

Honey malt in the grain bill. Brewed a 3 gallon batch, and added 1/2 cup of honey.

    Honey to Fermenter

So now that it in secondary, is adding honey mixed with water OK? And if so should I pitch more yeast?

    Spicy Tomato Beer

I've searched the forums and only found 2 threads about Tomato beer. It seems most think it's a terrible idea, but I'm on a mission for a buddy with a sandwich shop to put one together. I decided to add the fruit and spices at the secondary to a medium pale ale to get the "fresh" flavors and...

    Honey to Fermenter

Decided to move to the secondary before adding any energizer or pitching more yeast. 10 days in the primary and the gravity was at 1.008, so I think it's done. OG was light at 1.039 because of a bad conversion ratio, so it's sitting at 4.1% and little under where I would like the honey flavor...

    Honey to Fermenter

Did not add water. Should I give it a swirl since its been in a couple days? Add energizer then swirl?

    Honey to Fermenter

Thanks for the rply. The recipe doesn't call for a secondary fermentation. Actually suggests to bottle at 10 days. The recipe did call for mixing the honey with water, and I believe the honey used was pasteurized, which mine is not. Maybe I should transfer to secondary in a couple days and...

    Honey to Fermenter

Hello all, First post here. Would like to thank all for contributions over the years. I've read through a lot of threads to help get started with my small all grain set up. I'm on my third brew and have a honey ale that the recipe called for adding the honey after initial fermentation when...
