    Stored keg cleaning?

Honestly Ive had some tapped kegs that I left in the keezer for months, they never dried up and turned to crud. I guess the minor amount of liquid left and no air meant they stayed OK?

Plate Chiller First Use Lessons Learned

I'm happy with my IC personally, but I'd go to a CFC if not.

Plate Chiller First Use Lessons Learned

Sounds like a headache, still worth it for slightly quicker chilling? I got rid of mine when even after a hop spider I still had the endless flushing. I think they're awful from a HB point of view personally.

    Oregon Local Portland Breweries

Rogue bought Green Dragon last year. I havent been in since, not sure if they ruined it or not.

To build a walk in cooler or not.

Walk in would be sweet, but you're going to want glycol for the fermenters either way. Think of the temperature differences. Walk in at serving temps, one beer fermenting at 65, the other a 55 lager. Maybe cold crashing one. I vote go for a smaller walk in just for the kegs still.

    Spike Conical - Temperature Stratification

Cooling not kicking on as often means more time to balance out, no? Plus less heat transferred through the walls.

    Spike Conical - Temperature Stratification

The jacket should help whenever it finally arrives. Anyway you could temporarily insulate it? Reflectix is cheap. Or a blanket lol.

    Clean your stuff..seriously

Personally I'm always amazed at how rigorous I see people on this forum. Two hours cleaning? I probably wouldnt brew if I had to do that everytime, lol. I'm BIAB again just because of cleaning. Love it. My bag takes about one minute to clean. Seriously. Dump and spray. Then my boil kettle gets...

    Hipsters heads will explode

Hmm, none of those things are really precluding. Have you ever waited in line for a beer release and/or wrote an essay on BeerAdvocate? If so I think you're in the club bro.

    Hipsters heads will explode

Doesnt this make you the hipster complaining about people enjoying coffee because it's trendy? I forget the rules on what's a hipster these days, just that it has to be in relation to you feeling better than someone's tastes. Like those hipsters and their nasty saisons.

To tip or not to tip. That is the question!

I would not tip. That's one downside to the Square readers being so widespread everywhere. You go to a farmers market and pickup a pint of berries and they swing around a tip menu. Feck off.

Conical clogged butterfly valve 1.5 inch

Do you have a way to apply CO2 and put 5psi or something on your conical? Might blow it out. I had this happen to mine a few times if I didnt do a quick dump a few days into the ferment. What I did was sanitize a stainless steel chopstick I have and just stick it up and swirl it around. Be...

Nano to 7 Barrel to 15 Barrel to closed

Funny thing is with that business plan they'd wind up unexpected millionaires. Beer nerds would wait in a 5hr line to get a hit of the rare hypebeers.

Anyone using the TEFC Chugger mini max pumps?

The company I work for sells dozens of millions in irrigation pumps each year, and almost all the farmers want ODP motors that are fine running out in fields. I do TEFC into industrial applications just cause but don't make the mistake of thinking that'll handle wort like a washdown duty.

    2 tier - HLT+MT high, or MT+BK low?

Bit late to the party -- but MT on a tier above the BK. Ive heard of a bunch of grain compaction issues from people before. Ive personally witnessed it only once. A 10min interlude and decent stir broke that up, but it was frustrating to be sure. Also screw pumps. One thing I always see on here...

Nano to 7 Barrel to 15 Barrel to closed

Im not anywhere near involved in the beer business, but Ive long thought how just ballsy you must feel to take on a multi regional bottle-sales business plan as a brewery. Shelf space is such a premium. Even powerhouse brands like Stone have felt it in the past couple years. Im in industrial...

    Decently priced and reputable SSR

Have you been using the Magers for awhile now Augie? Screw the Foteks, just not worth the gamble for $8 in savings. The Magers do look better though.

    Suckback

I kind of find it silly how far people will go to avoid oxygen on the packaging side (pushing from fermenter to keg with CO2 and then purging 9x etc) but are perfectly fine cold-crashing without feeding CO2. I think if I didnt have CO2 handy I wouldnt cold crash. The oxygen intake is significant...
