    I love Great Divide's Belgian stout and Weyerbacher's Tiny" Belgian stout... So, i made a belgian stout and I used the WLP 530 yeast. I think it turned out too dry and too carbonated (bubbly) for my taste. I used the dark candi syrup and it just doesn't seem to have that raisiny, dark fruit...

    Take some plastic and build a teepee around it, being careful to not let the plastic touch the plant overnight.

    Also, if you're thinking of a red ipa, Can you Brew it has a clone recipe of Oscar Blues G'Knight Imperial Red ipa. it is spot on as far as color and taste. I highly recommend it for a red ipa.

    Anybody else brew beers you never really intend to drink?

    Yeah, I make cream ales (cream of three crops), blondes (sometimes with fruit and honey) and wheat beers for my wife and kids. They don't like hoppy beers or big stouts and porters. But they do enjoy these beers that i make for them. I wasn't really a fan of saisons but i made two in the fall...

    Are these first year hops from Rhizones? My centennial are 12 feet tall already and the cascades not far behind. I do have a first year columbus though that just popped up today.

    I love it when the hard part's done. Just sanitize and fill on bottling day! Just got done cleaning a couple cases myself.
