Only about 8 ounces of beans per five gallons, so it was a little bit less when brewed. It didn't look like much, but added to my secondary, it worked. Great choice on beans from Intelligentsia, that's one of my favorite coffee roasters.

For my first attempt at a coffee porter, I cold brewed the coffee. It created a distinctive coffee taste, but wasn't overwhelming.

I'm excited about that too. It was a hike out there, so I'm happy too.

That would be awesome down here in Florida. I would buy it in a heart beat...if it ever goes on to the market.

Thanks! I use it so people can stay connected with my blog. For a lot of people, including my family and friends, they're a lot more likely to check their Facebook every day, than my blog. Plus, for a lot of people it's easier for them to leave a comment on Facebook than on the actual blog...

I made another coffee stout and just sanitized my cold brew coffee maker (a toddy) and had no problems.

That's a steal. Took me a little bit to figure out how to switch from my local Groupon, to that...but it was worth it.

Summer is right around the corner (or already here). What advice would you give to a new home brewer in Florida dealing with hot temperatures this summer. Is there any types of recipes that do well better in warmer temps? Better types of yeast? Or anything else that I'm missing that...

I read that there's now a feature to add home brews, however I haven't tried it for myself yet. I haven't had a home brew to add since the feature was added. Before the feature was added, I just added in my home brews like I was adding a beer from a normal brewery. No one seemed to complain or...

Thanks for all the welcomes. It's great to see other Tampa and Florida people here, now I know where to go when I start to get worried about the increase temperatures outside this summer and how it's affecting my beer.

I'm new here and pretty new to brewing - two batches in. One was an IPA, the other a coffee stout. Right now, I'm absorbing as much info as I can from books and web and really wishing I discovered home brewing sooner.
