    Hello from Tampa, Florida

Welcome to the board! Southern Brewing is the best that I've been to in the area. I started out with a couple of one gallon kits. However, it wasn't long before I moved to the five gallon extract kits so I could have more flexibility with the recipes. The bad news is that a good chunk of my...

    Things Were Going So Good

Thanks I did dissolve it first. I think I'll try gently stirring it with the next batch.

    Things Were Going So Good

I got lucky it turns out that it was just a handful of bottles that must have loose caps. The rest of the beer seems to have carbed, in fact the one I tried yesterday had too much carbonation.

    Things Were Going So Good

I used Austin's strawberry extract http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?products_id=497 Been trying to rack my brain what else we may have done different on bottling day, but I can't come up with anything.

    Things Were Going So Good

It was about 74. Hard to keep my apartment cooler than that in Florida, but I'm the process of buying a chest freezer to fix that. Loose bottle caps was my idea after the first one. After the second, I realized I had a problem. I'm 99% sure that I added the priming sugar right before I added...

    Things Were Going So Good

Had a number of batches under my belt and overall, they went pretty good until I decided to make a Strawberry Wheat. However, this one was a little different. There was no carbonation. Nothing at all. Tried a couple of bottles and both were the same. I used Austin Homebrew's American Wheat...

    Hello from florida

I think I'm the only home brewer in Florida without a chest freezer or fridge. Might have to change that soon...and welcome to the bard!

I found another recipe, similar to the one posted above. Came out really great, well at least my dog and my friend's dog thought so.

    Tampa Big Brew Day

I'm torn on what to do Saturday. I really want to get out to the Special Hoperations event, but I don't have the equipment to bring out. So right now, I'm leaning towards heading over to the Independent. They have a great collection of sour beers and that's one of my weaknesses.

    on vacation in Florida.

Brandon has the home brewing store called Booth's. I third the Cigar City tour. I just did it yesterday and it was great, plus the tab room always has a different beer to try every time I go there.

There's one called In The Spirits in Sarasota. I know nothing about it, but there are a few good ones just up the road in Pinellas Park and Brandon.

Do hops grow in West Central Florida on the Gulf of Mexico?

That'll probably be one of my problems too, the squirrels here get into everything from my attic to garden.
