Are there any specific tastes to a beer to know if it is Green? I ask because people use the term, which I know what it means, but wondered if there were specific flavors that tip you off that it is not fully matured.

I was thinking last night, and I screwed up before I pitched the yeast in my first batch. I never took a gravity reading... I just added the suggested amount of water to the wort after cooling it. How screwed am I?

I hear ya man. I am just starting this hobby too, and I have my first batch going now. I go down and look at my carboy every couple hours. I have no idea what I am looking at, except that it is bubbling and churning. Its fun so far.

I already knew the answer to my question: Try them all. I just wanted to get a feel for what the pros and cons are. I am going to probably try a bucket first, then a better bottle. We shall see what happens :-p :ban:
