    Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

I tend to stay away from beers that look a little to commercial. SO I figured I would try it... But your welcome is about 29 years late :) :fro:

    Cold Crashing. Is it required?

the reason I ask is that my krausen has fallen finally and I am doing readings over the next couple days. So if the FG is constant, should I cold crash for an certain reason?

    Cold Crashing. Is it required?

I was asking if it did anything besides clearing the beer. So if it makes the yeast go dormant, is it a good idea to always cold crash?

    Cold Crashing. Is it required?

Is Cold crashing only for making the beer clearer?

    Grolsch Brown vs. Green Bottles

You would think that they wouldnt put their beer in harms way, but look at companies that put their beer in CLEAR bottles. From what I have read, brown bottles block out harmful light. I guess if you are planning on leaving your beer in the dark until you drink it, green woudl be fine.

    Foam and Bottling

My local HBS is not that great. They are SUPER expensive for fermenters. Everything else is decent, but I have found online Ale Pails for about 14 bucks a piece before shipping. NOW I understand why this hobby is so addicting. :ban:

    Foam and Bottling

Thanks for the info. I guess I am just impatient. So I shall wait until the Krausen is gone. I just really wanted to get this beer bottled and get another one going. I guess I will just have to go buy some more buckets! Thanks again Revvy.

    Foam and Bottling

So, for once, I searched the forums and was unable to find the answer to my questions. So its been about two weeks since I started my first beer. There is very little activity what so ever now. The beer is starting clear and the air lock is bubbling slower then an old person at a country...

The wrath of swmbo can be quick and deadly. Like a ninja, swmbo can get the pebble from the palm of your hand and then jam it up your tail pipe and yell at you for getting her hands dirty.
