My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

Right, although a spare c-clamp could help with that. I've got time on my hands unemployed and waiting to restart grad school in the fall, so I'm focusing on putting together my brewery setup/stuff before small brewing assistant who still needs minimum 10 years aging before usefulness arrives...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

Ok, so, looking at this, in theory I could just cut holes in the side of the bucket to slide a longer 1x6 through, pulling double duty as the mill mount and ears, yes? Of course, the holes would need to be slightly longer than the board is wide, to account for curvature . . .

    Another Newbie Keezer Build

Which model Danby 7.2? DCF072A2 OR DCF072A3? Do you mean six total, or six on the the NON-hump floor?

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

rac3850 - is it possible to get a photo top-down on your upper bucket, to see how that 1x6 is mounted, or a closeup of the screw points? I'm pulling the trigger, so to speak, on a corona (multi-purpose for me - crushing, dehulling, and grinding for flour), but I want to come up with a good plan...

Best grain mill in your opinion?

For me, the advantage of cast iron is price and flexibility - I'm looking at using a mill for barley crushing (for BIAB) and dehulling (for flour making) and flour milling. So I'm going with the old standby corona type.
  6. Q

Best grain mill in your opinion?

Sounds like one of the "generic, Chinese-made, Cereal Killer type mills with a slightly larger hopper". If the rollers are stainless steel - great, no rusting . . . but from what I have read here, don't expect them to last a lifetime like the ad copy says, they're too soft. I originally...

Best grain mill in your opinion?

For those with corona-type mills (I don't worry about the name, I already had the dang thing), can you point me to a good all-in-one place for recommended modifications? I've read about adding washers on the sides where part of the gap adjustment is, as well as various means of connecting a...

Brainstorming for a keezer build, looking for ideas/recommendations, etc

I know. I'm more than willing to take that risk, as I most definitely want to be able to run a beer engine - even if it's one based on the rocket pump for RVs. Given that I've seen builds that incorporate a set of shelves in the side, this seems like a minor issue.

Brainstorming for a keezer build, looking for ideas/recommendations, etc

Given the freezer I ordered, I played around in sketchup with what the official external dimensions are (I WILL double check those measurement when it's on the ground, twice!), and using The UrbanOutdoorsMan's easy load configuration,, plus my idea of a side box for a cask pump, here's what I've...

Anyone with the GE 7 cu ft or Magic Chef 7 cu ft freezer can you help?

Not yet having the thing, and only being able to estimate based on _reported_ inner dimensions, If I've read the online information correctly, the floor is 23 3/4 x 15, the compressor hump is 7 1/2 x 15. Thanks to the last owner of my house (40+ year union sheet metal worker) I've got soapstone...

Anyone with the GE 7 cu ft or Magic Chef 7 cu ft freezer can you help?

Best bet is to order one and get it on back order. I ordered a Hotpoint 7 (for keezer) and 9.4 (for food) yesterday, and they're backordered until 24 August. Employee told me to check back online periodically (recommended end of June) to see if they are available, because their inventory...

Brainstorming for a keezer build, looking for ideas/recommendations, etc

So, I've ordered the Hotpoint 7.0 cu ft freezer (backordered til August). If I've read the online information correctly, the floor is 23 3/4 x 15, the compressor hump is 7 1/2 x 15. Thanks to the last owner of my house (40+ year union sheet metal worker) I've got soapstone drawing sticks, so I...

Beer shank fitting - source needed

Williams Brewing has them. They ALSO have great customer service - they saw that I ordered two of an item (that I originally wanted 8 of, but when I placed my order they only had 2), by the time they were processing my order, they were down to one, but had a shipment coming in in three days...

Brainstorming for a keezer build, looking for ideas/recommendations, etc

So, I'm not too interested in completely covering the body of the freezer with anything that would provide insulation on the outer walls. An inner shelf doesn't really help when I need the handle of the pump to be outside the freezer. Something like this top mounted pump to start, with an idea...

New to the site, not the hobby

The good news is my current wife loves good beer too!

What came in the mail for you today?

No pictures - I'm stuck on military duty, but my duotight and evabarrier stuff etc arrived home in Mass. for when I decide to build a keezer and DIY a four gauge secondary regulator using $5 inline regulators and a spunding valve (considered the GovReg for a hot minute).

The Dysfunctional-Palooza Obnoxious Masshole BS Thread

What a whiner! I got the damned thing when I "deployed" to Texas for DOD response coordination; I've now had three runs of swabs done: initial test, leaning my head out of the car, 9 days since onset; then I volunteered for a study of recovered patients, which required nasopharyngeal AND throat...

    Burned Keezer

I am in AWE of this keezer build. I'm going to be happy just building a collar and then wrapping the body in "weathered wood" contact paper to make it look like a ship's chest or something.

    Easy load keezer with storage

Yes, that does help, and now that I've figured out how to use sketchup, I've come up with a few ideas that, if the creek don't rise, will visible shortly (don't know what the restrictions on attaching jpgs are).
