Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

all I did was stain my whole sculpture and used cement backerboard wrapped in aluminum flashing between the burners, nothing on the tops, and havnt seen a single issue. I have ran 2 hour boils before as well with no issues, this is using both a blinchman as well as an edlemetal burner. I liked...

    American IPA Brut IPA

Is it just me or is there a ton of oxidation in that beer? With the malt bill posted the SRM should be WAY lighter and more of a yellow collow than the orange/brown color shown. Just asking.

    strength of phosphoric acid 0.1?

can you post a picture of the label? and I stand corrected, you can actually find it in many different %'s but the 10 and 85 is the typical

    strength of phosphoric acid 0.1?

Im about 95% positive that what you have is the 10% Phosphoric solution, not the 85% (which its only sold in the 10 and the 85)

    Anyone brewing with medusa?

Im going to use the rest I suppose in a blonde or a pale ale, I think maybe the smaller hop additions of this vice large amounts in an IPA may be a little lighter tasting and probably be a better fit for my pallet as I am just not liking them in the IPA quantity.

    IPA Ingredient help.

Well, you COULD but that wouldnt be a FWH and it would end in a much different IBU contribution as the hops would be left behind in the mash tun once you sparged into the kettle. I add my hops right into the kettle and then drain my mash tun into the kettle and once I start my sparge/runoff...

    IPA Ingredient help.

sorry about not seeing this until now, when you set your steep time hops, you hve to make sure you adjust the temp down to 170ish range. you should not be getting any IBU additions from the hops down that low of a temp, or if any at all it should be very minimal. To adjust the IBU down, drop...

    IPA Ingredient help.

I would probably use jarrylo as the FWH and the 15 min mark, move the azacca and mosaic all to the end of the boil. adjust the amounts as needed to get to 70IBU, but I am guessing around 1oz jarrylo at FWH, and then again with .5oz at the 15 min mark, then starting at 5 min mark go with mosaic...

    Ss infussion and stuck mash

I just went and checked, I am using a .032 gap, which is how I had my mill set when I was using my cooler, I will try and widen it up maybe another .010 to get to .042 and see how that does. If I recall though, I had set it to .032 due to the amount of uncrushed grains I was seeing with the...

    Ss infussion and stuck mash

no, I am not 100% sure, it is a draining issues I am certain. As the outflow slows or stops all together comming out of the mash tun, I look to see and there is well over 1" of water on top of the grain bed, so it is not like I am drying out the grain as there is plenty of water in there, it...

    Ss infussion and stuck mash

So i have brewed 3 times now with my new SS infussion, outfitted with a fly sparge set up, and all 3 times i have gotten a stuck mash. I use 2 pumps, one coming from HLT to the sparge arm and one from the infussion to the kettle, and adjust my valve so there is an even flo in and back out, but...

    Anyone brewing with medusa?

So when i read about medusa hops i was really excited, but after my first brew of a simple neipa, i am getting a ton of grapefruit citrus from these (almost like a sculpin but a tad milder). It could be that i did a 2- 2oz dry hop charges of these along with citra and azacca but i have paired...

Refractometer beer is at 71 degrees so no need in a calf Using 2 different calibrated thermometers to get the temp No big swings I have both a refractometer and a hydrometer they damn near identical readings on one of the beers as I wanted to see if for some reason 1 was off, and it’s not...
