    Homebrew Talk 3D Print Thread.

I used a glass sheet on my old machine and one trick I used was a spritz of aquanet hairspray to hold down pla. Works great on the textured sheet. Washes off easy when you go to petg....

    Homebrew Talk 3D Print Thread.

I haven't found many items for homebrewing to 3d print. I've make a couple of drip trays, And a couple of inserts for my refrigerator. I've a Prusa mk3s that I make tons of stuff with. It's paid for itself several times over. Been way more set and print than my old tevo. Buy it if you...

Hit a wall tonight (maybe before now)....

Would be pretty bad to have to totally stop drinking if your liver fails. Or worse. I would say sell 25 of your 5 gallon kegs and buy 5, 2.5g kegs. 10 total beers in line max. 37.5 gallons of beer max in the process. That is 4800 ounces or 400 bottles of beer. One a day is over a year...

Shipping costs. Ordering 55lbs sacks online... need advice.

I've bought through FB marketplace from Urban brewers in Miami. Grain and equipment. Good prices. I just bought a couple of bags of grain from delta. Great prices, free shipping of bags. Roughly a buck a pound

    Anvil all in one

I'm maybe 5% lower with the 10.5 than my old converted keg system. I've been doing no sparge, lifting the cylinder a couple of times during mash. That brought me up a couple of 2 or 3 points. But really no issue. Add a half pound of grain or so and it's fine. I don't brew 9% beers, if I did...

BAD honey for mead is real. Or is it?

Lots of meaderies can serve after only a few months. Our first try has sat 2 years after bottling and is finally drinkable. Just store cool and let it age. It might not be great, but it will most probably get way better. And just remember, the older you get, the less taste you can differentiate

    Weather warnings

You are pretty much wasting your time putting wet towels over the bottles. You might be changing the temp a couple of degrees ON THE SURFACE of the bottle. There is no motion in the bottle. There will be no reduction in temp of the liquid. 400 bottles? Lots of volume That would cost a good...

    Washing Dirty Malt?

Just store and use it up. I think that your washing, or rinsing it would potentially do way more harm than good. If it is really dirty, then I'd just toss. But if it is just white dusty, that is just malt from crushed grain.

Free shipping on 2 row 50 lb, plus 15% discount if you sign up

Just bought 2 bags plus some dry yeast. Coupon code for 15% off worked and free shipping. 110 pounds of grain for $1.14 a pound. As cheap as 20 years ago.... and one bag is import.

When did craft beer prices “jump the shark”

While I'll not be buying any beers that I think are overpriced, and this example is about double anything I've seen locally, I would say if this particular brewery ONLY sells through stores, they may have to charge extravagant prices to exist. Most all of the micro and nano breweries around...

    calibrating anvil scale

How did you check calibration? Are you POSITIVE you just didn't hit tare? It appears to need a calibration weight of 50 pounds.. I'd contact anvil.... you aren't going to buy a real 50 pound calibration weight cheap. And it would be a one time use.....

    Make IPA Clear Again

Hazy equals flawed in an IPA. Call it like I see it. Tastier? Not. Wheat beers are hazy, but never an IPA. Just sayin

What are your tips for keeping costs down

I've made good money over the years by being a homebrewers. Wife had friend working for Pepsi a couple of decades ago. When they discontinued their kegs, I bought around 300 or so of them and sold them for good money for a year or so. Bought for about $2 each and sold for $15 to $25. But...

    Shelf life for grain

Just finished my bag of pale ale malt that was 4 years old. Worked fine, was kept cool and worked fine in the last brew

    "emergency" Keezer build with collar

Toss the old unit. It isn't worth the expense to try a charge. And for that matter, your power bill will thank you.

CO2 tank drops to zero when I pour

Bull....I understand partial pressures fine. besides, you couldn't taste that minimal oxidation if you wanted to.... just another higher cost option. CAPS Got your attention....
