Good Fall/Winter Beer to Brew with Short Timeline

Good call on the mild. Otherwise an American Amber or brown would be nice.

    The Sewer Brewer

False. PVC pipe is used for drain and venting. CPVC is used for potable water.

    PicoBrew? Seriously?

I became interested in these because between my business and my family, I can't brew as often or consistently as I want. The hands-off approach to brewing is attractive. I can take 15 minutes to set it up and turn on, come back a few hours later to cool and pitch and clean for a half hour. Do a...

    Remember when...

We didn't have ready access to fireworks, so we used model rocket engines. Pound it with a hammer to break up the clay plug, then dump out the powder. We'd use a little toilet paper rolled up tight as a fuse. Other after school fun was soak a tennis ball in gas, then light it and play street...

Looking to buy new kegs. Choices. Choices.

I have both, and would buy more AIH kegs when the time comes. The AEB are not that much better.

Saison throwdown! Wyeast 3726 VS SafAle BE-134

Oh yeah, guess I forgot about this thread! My final impression was this was just an OK yeast. (BE-134) It was a little fruity, but had an apple/pear quality that I wasn't the biggest fan of. I would try it again pushing the ferment temps even higher. I pitched at 70, let it free rise to 80, then...

    Boil kettle temp probe

You don't really need one, but it can help prevent boilovers by allowing you to monitor the approach to boil, and measure temps while whirlpooling and cooling(immersion chiller).

    AIH kegs

I've got one and wouldn't hesitate to buy more. I think it's better quality than the Torpedo keg from Morebeer that I have.

    Ultimate EBIAB kettle wanted

A sightglass is helpful in a recirculating system. By monitoring the fluid level in the sightglass, you can really dial in your recirc rate to prevent scorching or dryfires.

    Mobile beer canning?

I got my All American can seamer for $700. Still not cheap, but not a few thousand

2000w not enough for 4G, other ideas?

Boiling may not be 212 depending on your elevation and current climatic conditions. Boiling for me is 209/210. Also, you may need to reset your boil expectations. It seems like most people like to crank a gas burner for a huge volcanic boil, because you can. All you need is a gentle rolling boil.

Anyone know where I can find some X331 hops?

Did you try emailing Farmhouse about them? That's what I did a couple of months ago when they were showing out and he added more into inventory. I'm guessing they are gone by now, though. P.S. anyone else reading this, these hops suck. You don't want to buy any! They only appeal to a limited...
