    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

I always hate when folks ask questions of a community then don't follow-up with what they did. I ended up going with the 20 gallon kettle from Clawhammer and paring with a Blichmann Hellfire burner. This will allow me to delay the electrical work and extra cost until next year's bonus season...

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Oh, I don't need those because I have a pump/chiller/hoses and such now. I use them all for 5 G batches in my 10G pot on propane. I am just wanting to upgrade to a 10gallon batch capable rig, and my current burner is trash, so I'd need to upgrade that as well if I go to a larger batch.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Replying to myself, to say that I might also look at going with the Clawhammer 20G starter set, using my propane, and upgrading to the 240v controller/coil next year! Maybe the best of both worlds...

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

Who's got a few brews on the 18 gallon system and wants to share their thoughts? I'm ready to buy a system large enough for 10 gallon batches and I don't see much that competes. Only bummer is I don't need the pump or chiller or hoses...and I'd use a bag when one is available. Hate paying for...

    oxidation question

Agree with Beermeister32, use sugar to carb the second keg that sits at room temp. Save gas and limit O2.

Hop Water, anybody make this before?

Anyone else making hop water? I made up a batch last night, 5 gallons of carbon filtered city water. Half a campden tab in case of chlorine. Lemon juice to lower pH down to 4.5 or so. 10 minutes boil, cool to 170, 2oz hops (Grüngeist and Idaho-7 since they were in the freezer and freebies)...

Tip Draw Floating Dip Tube Issue

I went to my local ACE today, their Hillman SS nuts were stamped as 304, so they should be OK to use! Thanks for the tip. First up will be some dry January hop water (still looking for a perfect recipe, but gonna start with 2oz of something from the freezer and filtered water, cheap...

Tip Draw Floating Dip Tube Issue

A friend has since suggested ordering quality stainless from McMaster-Carr. I had a floating tube failure as my last keg approached 1 gallon or so left in the keg, it wouldn't stay submerged despite the marbles I had in the filter. I think they just didn't have enough weight. I'm going to see...

Options to avoid a dry hop - increase whirlpool/flameout hops?

Share your results here. I'm very interested in serving from primary and mostly brew IPA. Subscribed, good luck!

Tip Draw Floating Dip Tube Issue

Anyone have a link to reliably food grade stainless nuts or weights for this? Stupidly ruined two batches where I tossed what wasn't stainless nuts into the filter on my floating dip tube. When I dumped them, the nuts were black 😭, beer tastes metallic. Currently I have a couple glass marbles...

Used and well cleaned. Last time used was recirculating PBW for 20-30 minutes then hit water recirculation.

North Carolina Exchilerator Brutus Pro CFC for sale/trade for jaded/cuss immersion chiller

Bump with photos. This model has the twin tube copper internals. I've had a few questions about this, was unaware there was a stainless option. $225 shipped, unless I can ship for less than $25, in which case, I'll refund that amount (example, costs $15 to ship, so I'd refund $10 difference of...

    That German Lager taste

Thanks, @Bassman2003 for the video. I'm fermenting my 5th solo batch currently and I use BIAB in a kettle over propane. I was already considering a Foundry next spring if/when a bonus comes around. That said, I just appreciate the way this information was presented and it seems like some...

North Carolina Exchilerator Brutus Pro CFC for sale/trade for jaded/cuss immersion chiller

Hi all, I have a Brutus Pro counterflow chiller from Exchilerator in like nearly perfect shape. I bought it and realized it's a bit more than I need. See details here: Brutus Pro Counterflow Wort Chiller | Exchilerator Ideally, I'd trade for a Jaded Scilla or CUSS All-in-one, since my future...

Oversized O-rings or new keg lids?

These? They don't mention being oversized, but maybe they are? https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B093YTZ45K/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_35CZMXTYE6GPQVA38115?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Oversized O-rings or new keg lids?

Good info! Actually, when cleaning my kegs with PBW, I've been turning them upside down to soak for part of the cleaning process. This is the first one that hasn't had liquid tight seal when doing so, so I panicked. It very well may seal with pressure added, I hadn't tried.
