Junk in a bottle, didn't notice until I filled it

Sometimes you just have to know when to say goodbye ;)

    How many gallons this year?

uhhmmm 20 gallons in 1.5 months does that count? I'm sorry to hear about quantity limits down south there.... Seems a bit silly to me. I'm pretty sure we have limits here in BC however its not enforced. The cops have lists of 100's of grow ops they can't bother to get around to busting so home...

    I think I over carb'd

I've had the same thing happen, shut off the co2 release the pressure from the keg for about 30 seconds (till the hissing stops). Turn the co2 on to about 9 lbs and pour a beer. repeat a couple times if over carb situation continues.

    Clearing the beer

Just an fyi for anyone who hasn't tried it. I've gone through a few kegs now with 100% success and discovered that gelatin finnings help the beer clear in about 2 weeks rather that 3-4 before kegging. Its very easy: rack beer into secondary at say day 5. Boil about half a cup of water mix...

Got it narrowed down to two kits - any input?

I bought from keg connection and was hppy myself but the one from midwest looks wayyyy better. You could throw a couple adaptors on there and force carb a couple and serve a couple all at once! Way ore versatile and considering what I've experienced and heard about both retailers I'd say its an...

Starting to think I got shorted on CO2

Cool thanks everyone! I was starting to think I had issues! The tank is open air in my garage but it's not heated and it is getting dam cold here.... It seems to be getting colder and colder the more beer I drink.... lol

Starting to think I got shorted on CO2

I was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me. I have a #5 tank which they filled to 800psi. That put my regulator at just a little into the green zone which seems like they shorted me. What kind of PSI should it be filled to? Also I'm through 2 kegs now and down to 600psi. Is...

    Newbie question about bottle sediment

That is one of the big reasons I started kegging. I don't get gas from the sediment but I don't like the taste either and convincing my wife to drink it was a no go. The other reason is ease of use.

FESTA BREW kits on vancouver island

Hi all probably a canuck question but you never know... I've made quite a few brewhouse kits and would like to try some festa brew kits but can't seem to find them anywhere at a decent price on vancouver island.... There is one guy in Nanaimo who sells them but he is charging 40+ per kit which...

    Corona Clone

THEBREWHOUSE.com sells a corona clone kit. I haven't made it in a few years but if I remember correctly after throwing in a lime it was pretty damn close. Sadly it does not provide for sandy beaches and bikini babes no matter how much you drink...

Is $300 a good price for 3 keg system?

I bought mine from keg connection and everything showed up on time and worked great, About the same prices you have for midwest. 3 Keg Basic Keg Kit, Dispenses three kegs at once! (Seperate Check Valves!)

    Wow...bottling alone sux!!!

Kegging seems to me to be the way to go... Primary to keg and forget about it. I make mine from wort kits so even that is really easy. All told from start to finish a 5 gallon batch probably only consumes 1 hour of my time.... EDIT: If my friends are around they tend to do a pretty good job...

new to kegging and a problem

Since I've recently made this mistake I'll chime in. Are you sure you have the gas in and the tap out on the right connections? Easy way to check would be to open the keg and see if the connection to the tap has a long tube below it going to the bottom of the keg... Just a though and probably...

    Filtering????

I'm toying with the idea of filtering my beer so its clear... I've always bottle conditioned until recently so it wasn't really an option. I don't mind my beer being a bit cloudy but it really turns a lot of people off and its something to do :mug::mug:. Anybody have a cheap simple filter system...

    beer kits...

Just curious if anyone else is using thebrewhouse.com beer kits? I've had a fair amount of luck with them in getting a good finished product and am not quite ready/supplied to go from scratch. Is anyone aware of a widely available alternative all grain kit I could try? The stuff in the cans...

    New to the forum!

Thanks for the advice! I'm located on Vancouver island in Canada. The cdn dollar is still close enough to US to be reasonable but once customs gets their taxes and brokerage fees tacked on it gets a little stupid. There are a few ubrew shops on the island I can check out and see if someone can...

    New to the forum!

RLinNH Thanks for the fast response. The bad news is I may be an idiot. The good news is that you are right about the connections and when connected to the correct side it fits just fine. I'll hunt around for some PWB. One more thing. My keg came with 2 sets of new O rings. How long should I...

    New to the forum!

Hi all I'm new to the forum. I haven't been making beer at home now for a few years due to space issue but now all that has changed.:mug: I just got a single cornelius keg kit delivered and have a batch of pale ale almost ready to keg. Just had a couple quick questions... The quick connect...
