    Batch sparge equipment

Looking for feedback here - I have a brew session coming up and I see 2 ways of collecting/storing the sparge water. 1. Use the boil kettle and heat the sparge water during tha mash and store the sparge water in a cooler/HLT until needed. 2. Use a separate kettle to heat the sparge water while...

    Dry Hop advice

Looking at the suggested Trillium fort point clone recipe here they suggest 4oz of Citra in the dry hop. https://www.brewtoad.com/recipes/trillium-fort-point-pale-ale-clone-3c4c57 If I was interested in the DDH version of fort point (I've had this beer dozens of times - and greatly prefer it)...

Is this overkill for 5 gal batches?

Thanks all - I went with a 48 quart cooler and Bazooka screen :-)

Is this overkill for 5 gal batches?

Do you use a manifold or bazooka screen?

Is this overkill for 5 gal batches?

In preparing for the move to all grain, I want to look at building a mash tun. I can get the below cooler for $19 at my Walmart, but was wondering if 70qt is too much volume? Is there such a thing? In theory this would allow me to do 1 - larger batches, 2 - more grain and zero sparge...

    Modifying extract kit

London III did not come with the kit, I'm trying to get away from the classic American ale. My last brew was the American ale kit using 7 lbs of the same LME and 1 lb Crystal 15L hopped marginally with Cascade and while true to style and very drinkable, I found it a tad too nutty/caramel for my...

    Carbonation help

Lessons learned - 1. If you are going to cold crash in keg - don't shake it for carbing. 2. If you are not going to secondary and want to go straight to keg - leave it a little longer to maybe get less sediment in keg 3. Perhaps figure out a way to cold crash in primary in the fermonster?

    Carbonation help

Well examining the line I noticed a huge gob of sediment. I heated it up and squeezed it a bit and forced it out. Pouring all foam now - likely a bit overcarbed and a bit warm. I think I should be all set - will vent and get back down to regular levels in a few days

    Carbonation help

This is my first brew - I have been consuming commercial kegged beer at home and know my system fairly well - swapped out sanke for ball lock fittings etc. My first beer - a pale ale extract kit everything went smoothly and I transfered out of primary and into keg 2 days ago. I put the keg in...
