    Finally...Wooden Single Tier Underway

I have two of the shorter Guiness kegs but the other has a welded bottom draining fitting. Both of those were Craigslist finds when I lived in Tennessee. A guy up there was selling his whole setup for $350 so I took it. I got another 4 off of Craigslist last year for $50. I checked the...

    Finally...Wooden Single Tier Underway

I'm doing a low pressure propane set up. I have a picture of my burners that I'll post later. I'm currently typing this from my iPhone (HomeBrewTalk app). For the BK and the Sparge water tank I'm using the larger BG14's and for the Mash Tun I have the smaller 6" version of that burner. As far...

    Cheapest way to drill hole

I used the cheap step bit set from Harbor Freight and it made four nice holes for my weldless valves and sightglasses. For the eyehole that holds the top of the sightglass, I used a standard bit but it was one of the nice Dewalt titanium ones. Home depot had them on sale last week.

$3000 saved for a system. What to get?

Save a little more and you can get a Sabco Brew Magic. You might even find one used for close to that amount.

    Finally...Wooden Single Tier Underway

Some progress today... I got the holes for the weldless bulkheads and the sightglasses drilled. All Three kegs: The middle is a Guiness keg (13.2 gal) and will have a through wall thermometer added. I have the thermometer but I need to get a couple of silicone gaskets to seal it...

    Keggle lids

I'm thinking about somehow attaching something on the tops I just cut off to use them as lids but it may just be easier to go with the aluminum lids like the ones that come with the turkey fryer pots. It would be a lot easier for me to manipulate them since they're a much softer/thinner metal.

    Finally...Wooden Single Tier Underway

Finally, after six months and slowly ordering parts, I got a start on my Wooden, Single Tier, Brutus like system. It all got started tonight with the serendipitous cutting of the keggles....I even used a jig. Perfect Cirlces: The Jig: The Parts: The Honeywells...

    Chilling equipment?

CFC's can be gravity fed. You can just control the flow with a ball valve off of your boil kettle. Even with 60* ground water I felt like it took forever to get to pitching temps and wasted a ton of water with my immersion chiller. I recently bought a Dudadiesel 30-plate and can't wait to...

    Beverage Air Countertop Refrigerator

I have this listed on here Craigslist in Jacksonville, FL as well. I actually didn't know how valuable this was until I went to sell it and looked them up on eBay. This thing refrigerates like a beast though and is as heavy as one. It's basically just been a beer and soda fridge in the...

My new brew system, a brutus 10 with some nice modifications

Picked up some of my electrical components today. I got a few from a friend and then stopped by radio shack to grab some of the stuff he didn't have. They had Radio Shack brand transformers (part # 273-1512) there so I picked one up but may need to take it back. It's rated with both yellow...

    Buh-bye, Carboy Brush

Funny, the day after I see the ad for the guys trying to sell these things for over $30 someone on here makes one for much less.

Ever use a shipping container for brew shed??

I just spent the last six months or so living in one of these. The military has been doing it for quite awhile in forward deployed areas. Definitely cheap and easily modified. FML if I have to live in one again though.
