One mans yeasty is another mans vomit, I guess. Save the yeast. If the beer is terrible, you can always toss the yeast later.

Most good lhbs will mill your grains, even if they don't sell them. Just buy your hops and yeast there.

Do you use whirlfloc/gelatin? My beers have been crystal clear since I started using a half tab whirlfloc per 5 gal and a packet of Knox gelatin in the keg. I generally don't care about the pre-fermented clarity.

what is the point? its just a fancy bucket if its made of plastic. the glass better bottle is glass, which makes it different. want a bucket style plastic fermenter with a twist off lid? throw a gamma seal lid on your bucket. done for less than half the cost of one of these.

try the zombie dust clone recipe on here as a starting point, and tweak specialty malts and hops as you see fit. the clone recipe as-is is a delicious IPA.
