    Man, I love Apfelwein

I think he said aging is good but not on the yeast cake. So in keg or bottles after 6 months it really hits its stride

    Advice fir a newbie

    1) notes 2) take it slow- too easy to obsess over every little thing 3) this is the tricky one- don't drink to heavily while brewing. You will miss steps, forget things and may even be a danger to yourself. 4) RDWHAHB and stop buying mass produce commercial beer

    Man, I love Apfelwein

First batch is at .996 after 6 and a half weeks. Tastes pretty good. Going to carbonate it. Thinking maybe bottling so it will age more and not tie up a keg. Have my 2nd batch in as of last night. Sorry how do you back sweeten? Lactose?

Yeast washing is worth the effort

My friends used to say why bother its cheap enough to just buy new yeast. Until they got drunk on brew day and froze their yeast and came running to me for some DME and some washed wyeast 1028 I had stored. Now it makes sense to them

    10# tank question

I've seen different numbers but I saw on a website that a ten pound tank should do 31-44 corny kegs. How does that number work? Does carbonating and dispensing count as one keg or two? If you do a 5-10 second purge on a corny when kegging does that take a lot? I've purged, carbonated and...
