Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

Can’t argue with that. I just wanted to have both; a gas and liquid out post so I wouldn’t have to add a spigot. I liked the idea of pulling off the top with a floating dip tube, and I didn’t want to have to disassemble, sanitize, and seal a spigot after each batch. The spigot also makes it more...

    Need help deciding between fermenters

Take a look at the kegmenters. They are built like a tank! It’s essentially a sanke with a 4” triclamp lid. I have a 7.6 gal and a13.2. They are stackable, if you need that. I have only stacked them when idle, but that ain’t often! They are rated to 30 psi, but could probably handle a lot...

    Possible mold in my kegerator

It really varies. I’m in the South, so lots of moisture in the summer. In the winter, when the cooler air carries less moisture, they can go about all season. I just started doing this last summer right after I got my kegerator, so I don’t have a long record yet.

    Possible mold in my kegerator

I keep one of these hanging in my kegerator and keezer:

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

Yep! Exactly what I used. It actually took very little effort since the hole in the fermenter lid was only slightly smaller than it needed to be to accept the weldless adapter. I only used a small, fine, round chainsaw file to enlarge the hole a bit. The good news is that it is an entirely...

    Whirlfloc or not?

I use whirlfloc. I bought a small bag once to get me over that “free shipping” threshold. However, I am about out, and considering just letting it go. For me, taste trumps appearance and I don’t compete. I get a kick out of a particularly clear beer, but I don’t know how much money and effort I...

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

I have the sanke- ball lock adapter mounted on my lid. I usually do just as you say using a disconnect, hose, and wine bottle blow off. However, it’s not difficult to attach a short piece of hose to a disconnect and attach an airlock. You also have to use a bit of wire to hold the hose vertical...

    Substitute for Buckwheat in DIPA?

You can get buckwheat here in a variety of forms and quantities; just type “buckwheat” in the search box and find what you want. You may have to create an account, but that’s free. I get my organic flaked barley here. Azure

When to carbonate cold storage Kegged beer /

If I have more kegs than space, I just add sugar & ascorbic acid and let them carb up themselves while they are sitting around doing nothing. 😁

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

I have one of the Chapman fermenters without a spigot. Since it has a wide, flat lid, I was able to work with it a bit. It already had a fairly large bung hole up top, so it only took a little work with a fine round chainsaw file to enlarge the hole enough to accommodate a 2” triclamp adapter...

Alex, I’ll take ‘Things that don’t belong in a mash tun’ for $100.

For this very reason, I just skin my birds now; takes the feathers and all with no scalding.

Or, did you end up with a case of “summer teeth? You know, some’r over there, some’r over here, and some’r mixed in with those pepitas! 🤣

    Grape juice wine

If you don’t do anything else, consider adding ascorbic acid. It’s great at preserving your wine’s color and flavor by preventing oxidation. Besides, you can tell the wife when you go for another glass that you’re just making sure that you are getting your daily dose of vitamin C! 🤣 Adding...

    Grape juice wine

No expert here, but I have made gallons and gallons of grape juice wine; have some working right now. Also have some cranberry juice working, which makes a delicious wine; sparkling or still. I just read the label, add enough cane sugar to get me to 2#/gallon, add yeast nutrient and ferment...

My Pine Pollen, Maple Seed, Blonde Ale!

I bought a kegerator from a guy that had the most ingenious setup I have ever seen. He had been brewing on his carport, just inside the rollup door as I do at my shop. However, he got tired of dealing with the bugs, bees, etc. and framed up a screen wall with a walkthrough screen door inside the...

My Pine Pollen, Maple Seed, Blonde Ale!

I brew outside, just inside the roll up door on my shop. I tried a couple extract kits inside this winter and hated it. Thus, I’m outside with the pine pollen flying, dipping maple helicopters out of my kettle with a big smile on my face! Cheers! 🍻

    Heat for fermentation chamber

Should work fine. If I had it to do over, I would have looked for a more narrow wrap. Although the handles fold down on my 7 gallon Chapman, they still interfere with the wrap and hold it off the body a bit at the top of the wrap. It hasn’t seemed to have affected the function, but it is...

    Heat for fermentation chamber

Ditto on this. I pitch warm on a kveik, put a 40 watt Kegland wrap on it, wrap it all up in reflectix and throw a beach towel on top. It keeps it nice and toasty at 95°, even in a 65°-70° location. Just did a 10 gallon stout this way in a 13 gallon kegmenter. When you get that much wort and...
