    So who's brewing this weekend?

I pitched at 80F and now it's around 85 during peak fermentation. I did another Lutra beer that was more like 90/95F and it's amazingly clean tasting. I've got lots of head space, I brew 2 gallons in a 3 gallon fermonster :)

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Nice, that sounds tasty. I just did an all Citra brew that I liked a lot. I'm hoping for some piney/resiny flavors and aromas with this one. I'll be dry hopping 0.5 an ounce of each tomorrow morning

    What are you drinking now?

What is a RIPA? I've lost track of all the acronyms these days :D

    What are you drinking now?

Earlier, a homebrew blonde ale and then a session IPA at a local brewery (Main Line Brewing, RVA)

    Cooler conversion kit?

Oh yea, it's possible I bought a longer threaded piece. Now I don't remember. @bracconiere here's what mine looks like now

    Cooler conversion kit?

I was trying to go that route and I could only find brass pieces that weren't quite right. And the ball valve itself is almost $16. Which is why I went with the stainless steel pre-built one lol and it's still rock solid over a year later

    Cooler conversion kit?

Here's what I did to my 5 gal cooler https://www.brewersfriend.com/forum/threads/show-your-diy-projects.1026/page-24#post-128768

    Cooler conversion kit?

This is the one I bought. Had them put on a 3/8" barb instead of 1/2" https://www.kegconnection.com/stainless-steel-ball-valve-w-bulkhead-weldless/

    Cooler conversion kit?

Are you looking for a pickup tube as well or just the weldless bulkhead ball valve? I would imagine that the parts for the 5 gallon would fit a 2-3 gallon cooler, but not the 10 gallon stuff. The difference between Igloo and Rubbermaid is whether or not the large fatty washer is needed on the...

    Omega Lutra yeast?

Brewed on Saturday, reached FG sometime in the last day or so
  12. Sunfire96

What I did for beer today

Checked the Oktoberfest with Omega Lutra. It's reached FG, just trying to decide when to bottle it. I usually lager after bottle conditioning
  13. Sunfire96

    What are you drinking now?

The Oktoberfest gods have been kind to me this year

    What are you drinking now?

    Mini-Fridge Door Rebuild

What make and model fridge is this?
  16. Sunfire96

    What are you drinking now?

That's possible. I was buying it at the brewery. That is their rotating SMaSH series, the malt stays the same (pilsner) but the hop changes batch to batch. I was impressed with the depth of flavor they got from a smash recipe

    New brewer w old question

I'm also curious about your grain bill, if you wouldn't mind posting it :)

    New brewer w old question

Two days does seem fast for the krausen to drop, but it is a lager yeast so sometimes there's just not as much krausen as an ale yeast Definitely let it keep going, it potentially will take 7 or more days to hit FG. You could try warming it up a few degrees to make sure the yeast have some...

    New brewer w old question

Have you taken a gravity reading? Did your recipe have a lot of specialty grains or adjuncts? I've brewed a Czech Dark lager with that same yeast, fermented in the mid 60s, and had about 90% base malts. It finished out primary fermentation in 8 days

    Omega Lutra yeast?

I pitched about half the pack into 2 gallons of 1.056 "Marzen" and it should be finishing up in the next day or so without issue. Fermented around 80F
