    Pecan syrup might be good too. I really like tommy knocker's brewpub. The buffalo burger is great. Their black IPA is tasty too.

    Noob Question about storing yeast

    Thanks for your response. Would storing them on distilled water cause the cells to pop due to osmosis? I guess storing them on sugar could cause them to shrink too...

    Noob Question about storing yeast

    Is it okay to make a large starter colony (milk jug) then transfer the yeast into sanitized beer bottles and put a cap on them? Can I then store them in the fridge and pull one out when ever needed?

    Thanks for the replies so far everyone I really appreciate it. I have access to a cheap 30qt (7.5 gallon) pot... is that still to small for 5 gallon batches? I have thought about the keg option but I dont have the tools or know anyone to cut open a keg. I suppose I could find a shop...
