    Closed Transfer Question

I have a spike conical that I've done 2 closed transfers with to some sanke kegs through a tap that has the check valves removed. I got to thinking there is air in the line from the conical to the keg. Is this enough O2 to be a problem? If so how do I purge the air out?

Beginner - wanting to start with All-Grain?

I started with all grain because I knew eventually I would not want to use extract. I have 3 brews down so far and I've made mistakes with each one and am sure will make more but I've learned a lot. Even with my first brew the beer came out really good. So I say go for it! Even if you mess...

WilliamsWarn D-Style Sanke Keg Washer Review?

Has anyone tried this keg cleaner? I'm looking for a cheap way to clean snake kegs and this one says you don't have to remove the spear. Its on Moreover and a few other sites. Any other suggestions?

What Does a Mash Out Do?

If I'm understanding this right, mashing out will lock in the OG, otherwise it will keep going up due to enzymatic activity?

    Cold Crash Question

Pressurizing to 5PSI worked out fine, was able to get down to 38F cold crashing and still had 2 PSI left... it took a few more days because I had a power outage. Beer tastes great too!

    Cold Crash Question

Can't get it any lower than 40F, its lost about 2.5PSI... it was fermenting at 58F

    Cold Crash Question

I didn't think about the implosion possibility. Ended up sealing the blowoff and pressuring to 5PSI and waiting for the chiller to do its thing. Thanks for the explanations!

    Cold Crash Question

I have a Spike conical fermenter with a blow off tube going into star san. I was wondering if I can seal off the blowoff tube when I start to cold crash so it doesn't suck the star san back up? I'm a little confused though because on Spikes website they recommend pressurizing the conical to 5...

    CF15 5 gallon batches

What is the issue you were concerned about besides the coil reaching? I remember some comments about the large airspace exposing the beer to O2 but wouldn't it be filled with CO2 once fermentation started?

    Lazy RO Water Pump

This one uses 1/4" John Guest type tubing... they make different options though, you could probably use an adapter to get a water hose to work.

    Lazy RO Water Pump

What you can do it set it for 5 gallons on the Digiten, then whenever you're ready say hey google turn on pump and the digiten will fill 5 gallons and turn off the solenoid valve. Would be nice to just say fill 5 gallons but I don't think it can do that.

    Lazy RO Water Pump

Probably, the pump is connected to a Kaaza smart switch which is added to the Google home app so you can control it by voice. Just find a smart switch compatible with Alexa.

    Lazy RO Water Pump

Warning, the video says "Hey Google" if you have a google device near you. Are you super lazy like me and can't walk over to flip a switch? Here's my RO water being turned on and off through my Google Home thingy. Also hooked up a Digiten flow meter.

    All in one home setup

Spike went out of their way to fix an issue I had, can't recommend them enough. I love Clawhammer's videos, haven't tried their products though. It was a minor issue btw, I think any other company would have told me to shove it lol.

    Measuring Liquids

Anyone use the Digiten flow meter? Short Circuited Brewers did a video on it below... Looks like once its calibrated would be a great solution to get exact measurements on the fly. Digiten DFC15 Liquid Flow Controller -Installation, Setup, and Accuracy Test

Need help deciding on which grain mill to buy

I know with this motor it should last forever and don't have to worry about running more difficult grains through the mill all day. It's a beast!

    Fermenting with CF10 + sightglass

Need help deciding on which grain mill to buy

Makes sense. The American Aleworks motor is definitely overkill but who doesn’t like overkill? It could probably mill gravel lol.
