    Why doesn’t everyone BIAB?

I had a similar set up from Colorado brewing systems. It was nice. If you want 10 gallons of 1.07 or higher you will need to hold some water back. For big beers you might have to stick with 5 gallon batches. At least in my setup 30lbs +- was about capacity with full volume of water

    Why doesn’t everyone BIAB?

I did BIAB for a couple of years after getting back into home brewing after a 10 year layoff. This past year I went back to a 3 vessel system. I initially kept my ebiab set up thinking I might want to have it for when I didn’t have much time. I have not found the time difference to be that great...

    Beer in Prague

U kunstatu was really cool, Beer Geek bar was also cool. Fat Cat was good. Prague is amazing. My daughter did a semester abroad there last year and I went and spent 10 days there over thanksgiving. The Christmas markets are really cool. It is also cheap. I think the most expensive meal for the...

    Spike Complete System

For what it is worth I have now done several overnight mashes with the system. The first was a bit nerve wracking but now I really kinda like it. Get the water up to temp by 10 or 11 then mash in. Let it sit for 30 min stir then get the pumps going and let it be. Get up at 5 ish sparge then...

Help me decide between Spike CF10 and SSBrewtech Unitank

I have both and like them both for different reasons. The SS unitank seems more stable, easier to add dry hops and I like the sampling port better. The Spike has an easier solution to fermenting under pressure better and easier cooling, the carb stone is better, and the bigger dump valve is...

Autumn Seasonal Beer Spicy Autumn Biere de Garde (Les Cousins Dangereux)

I will keep you posted I will be brewing this next weekend. As I see it the only change I will make for sure is going to the full pound of biscuit vs the split. I love the heat you described, I have had a bunch of pepper beers and the best always have the heat in the throat

What temp did you ferment at? How long total was it in the secondary (prior or after additions)? This sounds delicious

    5G Deep South Barrel

Following this as I am planning to start a solara in the winter/spring with a 15g barrel from Corsair. I have heard the advice about clean beers first which makes sense and I have been going back and forth on fermenting with brewers yeast first then bugs in the barrel and just starting with...
