    First White Stout Attempt

I just kegged mine last night. I added the coffee 18 hours before kegging. I cold crashed right before adding the coffee. Tried a flat sample and really liked it other than similar thought of the coffee being overpowering. Can’t wait to see how this progresses. I modified the original post...

Why are homebrew people SO cheap??

We all brew because we love beer and (to differing extents) love the process. What I enjoy about HBT and the hobby is the common ground. I like reading about projects that took a ton of thought, skill, and engineering but not a lot of money just as much as I enjoy the posts about the totally...

I have not. One suggestion though, buy a couple of the inside gaskets. I lost one during clean up and didn’t realize it. Made the next brew day a PITA

Impressions of Spike 15gal Electric System

I just took the recommendation from spike and use a hose that I coil around the top of the grain bed. I hear the water add grain, stir, let it rest for 10-15 min then bring it back up to my mash temp. Once it gets there I usually stir once more. I have been using the 1.35 quarts of water per...

    First White Stout Attempt

I got inspired by this thread and tried a similar recipe on Monday. I then happened to go to a local favorite brewery and pizza place Tailgate that happened to have a white stout on tap. There’s was good but more coffee and no chocolate or vanilla. I really can’t wait to see how this comes out!

Impressions of Spike 15gal Electric System

I haven’t had issues with temp. I’m sure you already thought of the but did you do the auto tune? I have had my system for a year I have the 15 gallon finished batch one with upgraded 50a panel. I love it. My only issue seems to be crazy high boil off rates especially with smaller batches...

Ship beer vs fly with it?

I have checked a Pelican cooler with 40+ cans of beers on SWA with no issues. I have also carried back tons of bottles in my suitcase again with no issues. Buy some of those wine sleeves that have bubble wrap in them and you are GTG
