Adding a creamy finish to home brews.

What kind or style of beer are you talking about? If it is a sout or such I would say lactose. Of it's not maltodextrine or Carapils grain will add mouth feel. You could also look into nitrogen. Really fits stouts but can be used in all styles with some creativity. Kinda depends on if your a...

To Dump or Not? Chocolate Wheat Nightmare.

DONT DUMP RDWHAHB!!! Worst case scenario if its too much grain maybe it will be applicable for a blending of a weaker beer to make your masterpiece. I agree I would wait it out and see what happens. If it doesn't help brew something you could blend with it.

    Stuck fermentation? Should I care?

So I checked gravity today and it's 1.034. I had added the raspberry last week but not taking a gravity reading after I did so. My question is this. It appears there has been activity in the fermenter. Therefore has the yeast been working but we are still at 1.035 because of the added sugars of...

    Yeast volumes?

So what your saying is it's easier to just make 2 starters and decant and pitch both. 2x 1L starters = 1x 2L starters
  11. jtupper

    Yeast volumes?

How would a stir plate effect this. I'm not a biologist at all but isn't a stir plate to keep yeast in suspension, therefor could you run the stirplate. Then chil decant add more wort and stirplate again? Would the movement of contestant during and additional o2 wake them back up?

How many gallons of homebrew in 2011?

    Yeast volumes?

Quick one here...If I am making a 2L starter in a 1L flask, using the decanting method can I ferment 1L then decant and add 1L and finish. Decant and pitch. That would still make it a 2L starter correct. My thought is I'm pouring off fermented wort not yeast so by the end of the starter I...

    Need a Lager Pipeline

Putting a lot of different stuff in beer makes things complicated and hard to replicate. Plus cost more. I always have a mind set of KISS it cheaper more repeatable and makes good quality beer close to styles. If they went good why would they have been around so long? Thanks for the kind words.

So I checked again to day and were still at 1.035. :( Went a head and racked to 5oz of raspberry Puree that I had boiled and cooled.
