    Dry hopping

Any advice on best way to dry hop? My plan was to place 1 oz cascade and .5 oz simcoe in secondary (no muslin bag). Anyone have issues with too much expansion in carboy? Should I use a bag? If so, how would I get it out of the carboy when finished?

    Mashing

Hey everyone Attempting a partial mash next week to brew in IPA.. I will have 3.5lbs of grain that will need to be mashed. 2.5 pale ale malt 10 oz crystal 60L and 8 oz crystal 20L... How long would you recommend mashing and at what temp? 45 min at 155 sound about right?

    Ipa

I can see dry hopping a 3-7 days at higher temps 65-70... Higher temps lead to more hop flavor releasing from the hops, any longer (10 days) may give in wanted favors from the hops like you said...pretty excited to venture into dry hopping, just got married so the wife will love the hop aroma..

    How much priming sugar?

I agree... The two cups of water is perfect just make sure you are using a sauce pan that is small where when you add the sugar the sugar does not rise above the water... I haven't mastered this but I am learning with each brew. Amy suggestions on a IPA recipe?

    How much priming sugar?

I usually use the ounce to gallon ratio although it may not make all brewed beers "to style". I have added the traditional 5 ounces priming to my batches and only had one issue of over carbonation. After boiling to dissolve it let it cool for 5-10 minutes before you add it to your bottlling...

    Dry hopping

Would you recommend cold crashing for dry hopping in secondary fermenter? Then bring up temp for bottling?

    Dry hopping

That is what I have seen in researching ways to dry hop. I have seen the use of paint strainer bags that you can get at home depot or lowes... May be easier to sanitize?
