New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

It took me awhile but finally got around to brewing the best NEIPA I have ever brewed thanks to Dgallo’s recipe! I get mango, sweet fruit and citrus lime for days. The bitterness is exactly what I want for a 8% but yet smooth. This is my first time using Spelt and I like it. I would take this...

Hit a wall tonight (maybe before now)....

I brew 5 gallon batches and also in my mid 40's with a 4yr old. My advice would be to dial it down a notch so you can enjoy this for years to come rather than have to be forced to stopped due to health reasons. I hope to still enjoy beer with my son when he is old enough. Just remember it's a...

    Belgian liquid vs dry Yeast

I am drinking a Leffe blonde clone which used WLP530. I get slight spice not much banana but could be a temp thing. I also use 530 in a Westy 12 clone and it's a killer yeast. I have not experiment with other Belgian yeast but i really like WLP530. I think the key is ramping up the temp to get...

Belgian Blond Ale Revvy's Belgian Blonde (Leffe Clone)

Second edition with a few slight changes. Both times I brewed this beer it took months for it to come around. This beer is seven months old and really starting to shine. Only changes i made were the mash temp. I did 30 mins at 131 and 30 mins at 152. This is a solid recipe!

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I just used spelt for the first time and really stoked with the results. Pretty sure this is the best NEIPA out of a dozen or so i have brewed. I have used a touch of honey malt in the past but i think this is my new grain bill going forward with this style. I would post a picture but it's...

I’m looking to bump my batch size up for brewing NEIPA’s due to the amount of beer lost due to hop absorption. Anyone ferment 6 gallons in a cf5 without making a mess?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

It’s been over six months since I brewed. This one is going to be killer. So smooth and perfect bitterness, will be interesting to see what the 24hr DH charge brings to the table! Stole the recipe from Dgallo! 1.077 - 1.016 .5oz Magnum @ 60 1oz Strata @ 10 1oz Galaxy @ 10 3oz Strata WP 1oz...

You are correct sir, had a brain fart and completely forgot about scale! Im starting to think the CF5 isn’t quite big enough for NEIPA or either I’m not filling up enough. I guess I’m worried about blow off and making a mess. Anyone using the CF5 have blow off when going up to 6 gallon mark...

Yes but keep in mind you have a CF15. Imagine what 10oz of DH looks like in a CF5. I’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s been so much easier when I started DH in the keg. I may try again on my next NEIPA but my main reason for my process is I have very minimal o2 exposure by doing a closed...

Yeastfeast the problem is getting the 10oz of hops out of the conical so you can rack the beer into the keg. I’m not sure if you have the racking arm but that is a must have item. It can be done but requires many dumps and you end up loosing quite a bit of beer in the process. Any other beer...

I had to drill the hole in the hop spider for the diptube. Any oring that will fit around the dip tube will work. This is just to keep hops from getting past the hole in the lid. If you drill the hole small enough may not even need it.
