    Unhook from the tank. Then rehook to the tank. Open the valve very slow. There is a flow prevention device that closes on high flow. Let me know if it helps.

    What is the best practical way to condition grains?

    I have used a garbage bag, a bucket and spoon, and the under bed storage container. I stuck with the last because it seems to go faster, about five minutes for 25 lbs of grain.

    Well in that case, if you have already purchased the second fitting above, it will work. If not what mux said will work just as well for less and plastic is also a suitable option.

    If the filters are not touching a longer nipple will not help. Try to remove the side that is leaking and put a couple more rounds of Teflon tape on it. Pipe dope also does a good job.

    Inexpensive harbor freight electric 110 winch. Use them around the farm for lifting various things. Put the hook through the carboy handle. One hand on the control one to steady the carboy.
