    HELP, Dropped straw into fermenter!

You might want to fish the batteries out. :p I don't know what you were doing playing with your wife's vibrator in your beer, but to each their own.

Few general questions I have run into.

Just dump it in. It will hydrate itself. It's better to sprinkle if you can. It's not worth trying to sanitize and sticking something else in your fermenter to mix it. It would be even better to rehydrate your yeast before you put it in the fermenter. Yes. When doing extract brewing there are...

    Kveik pancakes?

Pancakes don't usually have yeast, at least not ones I've had. What is your recipe?

    Minnesota Twin Cities homebrewing clubs?

I have attended a few events of the Minnesota Home Brewer’s Association. Really nice bunch of people. They seem pretty active and have a regular e-news mailing list.

The guy on the internet NEVER adds the [yet]

    Show us your Kegerator

That will probably work. I assume you meant over the compressor compartment? Most of those units have coils within the outer shell that dissipates heat through the metal skin.

how about a meme generator thread...

I think if you were really going to go there you would need to make it go backwards. 😉

    Show us your Kegerator

That is beautiful! Just curious, did you leave an air gap behind the wood? Those freezers usually shed their heat through the side walls.

    Show us your Kegerator

If you can build things you can build a kegerator or keezer. I would suggest anything that doesn't work out on the pluming is something you can tweak and fix. There are only some basic design questions you will want to wrestle with before you start. Do you want the CO2 inside the unit or run...

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

CBPi is a really nice system for brewing. I've been using it for a few years. I don't recommend it for fermentation. The Pi is just not reliable enough to trust with a long term fermentation. I would suggest you look at BrewPi or Fermentrack for that application.

Help - first time using hemocytometer

It’s worked great, but I’ve not used it very much. Life seems to be rushing me by. I’ve not invested the time I thought I would in yeast ranching. I’ve no complaints about any of the equipment though. At least I have good stuff for when I get the time again.

Do you need a 1 off Stainless part built for your system? Let's discuss it.

I have a conical (SSBrewtec 7 gal Unitank). I like to do closed transfers to the keg. One of the areas that is difficult to purge is the tri-clamp connection into my transfer tubing. I prefer a flare fitting so I can use normal threaded tubing couplings that fit on ball lock fittings. the...

    Auto Pouring Kegerator

i would say that in exchange for selling your soul and having Blue Moon on tap, you should definitely get to keep this fine machine out of the closet!

Balloon filled w Co2 over airlock (cold crashing)

I did that for a little while when I was still using carboys. It is a bit of a challenge to figure out how to connect it. I used one of the rubber carboy caps and then shoved a hose barb fitting into it and then stretched the balloon over that. One of the tricks is getting the balloon filled...

    question about washed yeast

If it was fermenting for 3 weeks at 19C something must have stalled fermentation. That's only 68% attenuation. There may be something wrong with your yeast, it's hard to know. I would definitely do a starter before your next beer and make sure you have growth activity before you commit to brewing.

Help me decide between Spike CF10 and SSBrewtech Unitank

So you completely clean your fermenter, and then CIP? Dude, OCD much? :P

Help me decide between Spike CF10 and SSBrewtech Unitank

When I tried this I was using a Steelhead Pump from NB. I now have a Riptide, but I don't think I ever tried it with that.

Help me decide between Spike CF10 and SSBrewtech Unitank

I agree. It was daunting at first, now I can do it in 5 minutes. I did pick up a CIPball, I don’t remember where I got it. It may have been SS. I pretty much gave up using it. In order to get any decent spray it requires more flow than a typical brew pump. I have a sump pump style pump for my...

Help me decide between Spike CF10 and SSBrewtech Unitank

Let us know how many times it takes to get that 6” tri clamp lid to seal too! 😛 (a card carrying unitank I owner)
