    Always trust your hydrometer.

Good call. I have a Trappist Tripel in a bucket right now and I think that will be the last time I use them. Do they make a 6-6.5 gallon Betterbottle? I think they only make 5 gallon ones

    Always trust your hydrometer.

I know, right..... It's in a bucket but im gonna rack it soon. Hopefully it comes out alright. I guess I'll know in a month or so. The airlock isn't really what got to me, it was the lack of any krausen

    Always trust your hydrometer.

Brewed up a batch of wit and pitched some Danstar. 24 hours later and nothing. No krausen, no airlock activity. Read a bunch of bad reviews about Munich and thought mine was bad. Waited a few days and still nothing. Thought about pitching some more, possibly something else and then remembered...

Question about making a stawberry blonde

Just made a batch.... After 3 weeks in primary racked 2 of my 5 gallons on top of 4 pounds of strawberries. Left for 2 weeks. Just popped abottle after 2 weeks conditioning and it is great! Used frozen strawberries and brought them to 150 degrees for 15-20 minutes, cooled and then added...

I know never give up, but......

I used dry yeast. S-04 and then ended up pitching an additional 05 with nutrients. Still nothing happened, thats when i added the amylase enzyme, which brought the FG down to a good range. Im still very new at this. This was a kit and I used what came with it. I haven't learned much about...

    Popped the first bottle.......

Just had a bottle of my first batch of strong blonde.....AMAZING Strong blonde I bottled on the 16th...epic. I am so happy with this brew and it still needs a few more weeks of conditioning to be fully mature. Amazing head, full body, and smooooooooth. Even my friends who only drink Bud...

I know never give up, but......

Pretty sure the drop came from the AE, as visible signs of fermentation were evident, as well as my hydrometer backing it up. It may be contaminated, as this has crossed my mind before.....I dont think it is much but if it did skunk up this batch, thats why i may just chalk it to experience...

I know never give up, but......

Yeah, still tastes the same. I can taste the flavor of the stout, but it is overwhelmed by this sour, bitter taste. It hasnt mellowd at all. Granted, it is a heavy beer and may need more time to condition.....but, like with my other batches they taste good, just green, like fruit thats not quite...

I know never give up, but......

I might have to toss this batch. Brewed a RIS beginning of October and had OG of 1.076. great fermentation for about a week but after 2 weeks it was at 1.030. Stirred it up and left it alone for about a week. Checked it and it hadn't gone down any. Pitched some yeast with some nutrients and...
