    You have to have somewhere for the pressure to release. If you just tried to push the beer in the liquid post it wouldn't want to go in. You can vent the PRV, use an airlock on the gas post, or do something else like that.

    What kind of fermenter do you have? If you have a carboy, you can look from the side and see if it is still actively moving around.

    I think you'll be fine if you sparge. There are calculators all over for figuring how much grain and water you can fit in a kettle. I think you'll be ok, but you might have to be careful with your boil if you only have 1-1.5 gallons of headspace.

    I had the same issue with one of my kegs. I believe that the weld was poor and I had the lid replaced by the vendor. I kept the original lid and might try to repair with some jb weld. Can you tell where the leak is on the PRV? If it is where the valve seats, maybe a new PRV or some keg lube...

    How much later are we talking? I will personally use the same bucket for an evening for cleaning a bunch of bottles, but if I leave it overnight it starts to get very filmy.
