Excellent. Thanks. I used a little elmers glue and a mini paint roller to get them on there. Then I put about 4 coats of satin spar urathane over them. Glad you like it man!

Beer labels on collar of keezer

Hey guys. As promised here are some pics from putting beer labels on my collar: http://fuzzybrew.com/2011/02/diy-keezer-part-3/ It wouldn't let me post them in this thread. Pics are towards bottom of the post. Lemme know what you think.

    Help with effeciecny please. sorry.

Well. It looks like the refractometer was reading 2 brix higher than it should have been. Which kind of explains things. Scared to go back in my brew log and look at my numbers for the past two years. Hmmm.

    Help with effeciecny please. sorry.

I don't think it is volume being off. Nvr know though. I had a touch over 5.5g into the carboy. I guess I could check calibration on kettle again. Going to buy feeler gauges as well and see if settings came too fine on barley crusher. Crush was finer than LHBS but wasn't that much finer. I'm...

    Help with effeciecny please. sorry.

Anything is possible. My og after boil was 1.077 so I'm thinking it was right. I always take two samples as well. Confused.

    Help with effeciecny please. sorry.

I use a refractometer that supposedly does it. Is that efficiency possible?

    Help with effeciecny please. sorry.

This is torturing me. Sorry to be a noob. I got a barley crusher so my numbers were out of whack the first time I used it. I'm trying to fig effeciency but not sure if I'm doing the math right. I used the method in Designing Great Beers. I assumed 75% for 5.5g of Rachbier SO after mash...

    1st time using lager yeast

Thanks. Looks like it is starting to go. Krauzen is starting to form and bubbling a little bit.

    1st time using lager yeast

Pkeeler- So you are saying I would have been better off and grown more yeast if I bumped up one pack a couple of times to 3L?

    1st time using lager yeast

    1st time using lager yeast

I made a rauchbier yesterday. OG 1.076 was 10 pts higher (first time using barley crusher). I oxygenated the wort prior to pitching at 47 degrees. 5.5 gallons. Made a 1.6L starter with 2 smack packs of bohemian lager yeast. I'm nervous bc I don't really see any signs of visible fermentation...

    Barley crusher settings

Well. I could completely bluff here and say that setting were whacked but I have no problem admitting I'm a fool. Helps if I crank the handle the other way. My my. Going back to drinking the sixer of modus hoperandi my buddy gave me. Happy brewing. That is one fine crush!

    Barley crusher settings

Am I crazy? Brand new barley crusher. Just tried to run .5 lb of grain thru it per instructions and the grain just ran thru it untouched. Everything I've heard and the instructions say it is set to .039 thousands of an inch and you don't need to adjust it. Curious how easy it is to start...

GE 7 CF (FCM7SUWW) keezer conversion

The keezer is going in the garage so I figured I would need something (light bulb or something) to act as heat source on days it gets below set temperature. I'll have to look into the bulkhead fitting. Thanks again.

GE 7 CF (FCM7SUWW) keezer conversion

Hey. I'm curious what you think is the best amount of holes to drill for the various wires/lines. Does this make sense: 1. Hole for temp controller going into junction box. 2. one for the fan, heat source and the two gas lines. Do you think this makes sense? Sorry to harp on this. Thanks...

GE 7 CF (FCM7SUWW) keezer conversion

I'm back with another question. So the collar is built and glued onto the lid. Now I'm trying the figure the holes i need to drill in the back of the collar. Basically my question is do you think a rubber grommet would work to insulate the holes opposed to filling them with foam? My tank is...
