Bread with WLP 655 Belgian Sour mix

Just remember, just like in beer, these critters are a little slower to work, so make up your dough, or batter or how ever you decide to do it, and toss it in the fridge and let it work for a while. Mine was a couple of weeks before I was really happy with how sour it was. The aroma is incredible.

Bread with WLP 655 Belgian Sour mix

odd, i thought i already posted the results... It came out really good. I fed the starter some fresh flour and water, and tossed it in the refridgerator. About a week later I made the next loaf, just a very simply "peasant bread" type recipe, and it was FANTASTIC. It had picked up even more...

Bread with WLP 655 Belgian Sour mix

Well, the part that i threw in the fridge yesterday just would not get going today. I have not put together the proofing box that I am planning on building, and it has been unusually cold for this time of year in Seattle. Instead, when I got home from work today I threw together the following...

Bread with WLP 655 Belgian Sour mix

So I decided to do a "sourdough" with WLP 655 Belgian Sour. I did equal parts flour and water, and pitched the vial in. I let it sit over night, and it really took off nicely. The next afternoon I mixed in a couple cups of rye flour, and put it back to rest on the counter. By that evening it...

    Boycott Magic Hat Brewing Company...

The owner of Magic Hat was only going to allow Georgetown to do that, change the name to Nine Lb Porter, IF he had legal rights to the name and then licensed it back to them for free.

    Boycott Magic Hat Brewing Company...

Seattle Beer News quoted the entire email that was sent out by Georgetown in their article on this. Seattle Beer News article about 9 LB Porter being renamed. To me, one of the key points of the email is the quote So Georgetown as a legal trademark, but now Magic Hat is going after anyone that...

    Boycott Magic Hat Brewing Company...

Yes, because Magic Hat has #9, and Georgetown has 9 LB Porter, often written in bars/restaurants as 9# Porter... Makes me wonder if Magic Hat is going to threaten to sue Baltika next, since they have a #9 also.

    Boycott Magic Hat Brewing Company...

Moderators, if this is the wrong place to post this, I apologize, and please let me know... that being said, on with my rant... So I thought that it was just big energy drink companies that were jerks, and went around telling people what they could name their beers... I was wrong. A letter went...

    Attn: Washington State beer lovers

If you are in the state of Washington, and care about the availability of good craft beer, then pay attention to House Bill 1462. Washington state law currently only allows 1/6th barrel kegs at specialty beer stores. As you know, many good craft beers are only availabe in pony or 1/2 barrel...

    Today kicks ass...

Ok, so work wise, this week has kind of sucked... long and stressful... but it just ended on an AWESOME note, today has kicked ass... I work in the corporate offices of a grocery chain, doing IT work. I had to go out to one of our stores today to take care of some stuff. I was talking to...

Will Starsan remove pint glass silk screens the way it does Corona labels?

This all depends on how the logo was "painted" on there. There are paints similar to what you might go down to the store and buy, that you paint on, and they dry, and you are done. There are also "paints" that are actually suspended colored glass particles. The logo is "painted" on, and then...
