All Grain Keg Setup Looking For Input

+1 on the dip tube. Here is my false bottom with dip tube and I have barely any liquid in my MLT after its drained.

    Barbs on Counterflow Chiller Unnecessary?

I actually lose very little. Maybe a quart in the chiller and a quart under my false bottom. I actually lose just as much due to my hoses as I do that's left in the chiller.

    Barbs on Counterflow Chiller Unnecessary?

That thermometer is like $25 from brewhardware. It's spot on accurate and adjustable. I'm going to remove the threaded connector and add a 45 degree street elbow so I don't have to bend down to see it. It's worth the $25 for sure. As for the chiller, it's amazing how fast it goes from 212...

    Barbs on Counterflow Chiller Unnecessary?

If you're going to sweat the fittings, just add threaded fittings like this and limit the number of clamps you use. Mine hasn't leaked a drop of wort or water.

    Bigger starter

With all these posts on larger starters, I'm starting to wonder if the starters I'm making are big enough? For a 5 gallon centennial blonde I made a few weeks ago with WLP002 I just did the normal 2 cups of boiled water, mixed in 1/2 cup light DME, added yeast and put it on a stir plate for 4...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

I've never seen anyone put that amount down as a deposit on a keg. It's usually like $60-$80 which would not pay for that keg.

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

You can find them the right way (buy from somewhere that obtained the kegs legally) or the wrong way which is usually how people get them (Craigslist, etc. ). If people just put a deposit down and never return the keg it's still property of the brewery. The breweries will decommission the kegs...

    S-04 vs. 1272

Just a quick question about the aggressiveness of these two yeasts I made a zombie dust clone that's been in the carboy for ~36 hours with no bubbles from the blow-off tube. It's in a "swamp cooler" so the temp is probably around 65-70 degrees inside the carboy. I also made an Anchor porter with...

    TURBO Wort chiller

Use the copper to make a counterflow chiller. Mine goes from 212 degrees to 80 or cooler as fast as the pump will pump it.

    keggle dip tube/false bottom

You probably know her brothers, Matt, Brent and Andrew. Yes, I'd go with the hop spider. It's your best bet. Bags tend to cause problems and getting all that hop junk out when (not if) they do is a pain in the A**

    keggle dip tube/false bottom

Save yourself some money and buy a hop spider for the boil kettle. They aren't as expensive and will control all the hop gunk you can throw at it. Check out NorCal brewing.

I knew someone had it in them. Thank you for the link.

    Fermentation cabinet

I just wanted to know if anyone has tried my idea. I was planning to build a box big enough for 3 6.5 gallons carboys and cool it with an eBay temp controller that controls a window A/C. I was planning to frame the box out of 2x4s and then sandwich 2" foam board between plywood/OSB board. Has...
